Movie recommendations? Or even TV series.

I'm trying to kill time and need something to watch. I've got a couple flicks in mind but I've seen them all. I'd really like something I haven't.

I did, and loved it up until the end.

As for genres, anything works. Normally I don't like comedy, but Curb your enthusiasm looks good. As for Weeds, I think I watched two whole seasons. I don't know why but after that it just got boring.

Anyway thanks you three. If anyone can think up a good, modern Sci-Fi flick (that I haven't seen) that'd be sweet.

have you watched Firefly yet?  no?  then that's your answer.  Firefly is pretty much the best series on television in the past decade.  it's a crime against humanity that it only last 1 season.  basically, it's cowboys in space done the very best way.  seriously, google it.  you won't find an ill word spoken of it.

Futurama
old school episodes of The X-Files
in addition to Firefly, i'm also a fanboy for all of Joss Whedon's other work including Buffy, Angel, and Dollhouse; however, i recognize these may not be for everyone.
Six Feet Under is a series that's received high acclaim from many sources, but honestly i started the series and only got like 4 or 5 episodes in before getting bored of it and angry at the whiny fucking female teenage character.

lemme know if you have any questions regarding these shows.  they're all pretty fucking quality.

I second Dexter! If you haven't watched it....OMG it's probably my favorite series. I know you said you don't really dig comedy, but I also second Community.  It's so funny.  They could make a show about Troy and Abed and I'd be happy.

Surrogates was pretty decent. Not incredible, but enjoyable.

Obviously Inception if you haven't seen it.

Did you see "Moon"? Awesome overlooked sci-fi from a couple years ago...

I just recently watched the Ricky Gervais series 'Extras' again.  One of my favorite series, the final Christmas episode is probably in my top 10 of any television show episode

The Star Trek remake was top notch as far as sci-fi goes, perfect for genre fans and casual fans alike which is rare.  Also check out Dexter and Breaking Bad.

Yeah Star Trek is a good recommendation.

Also, for TV shows, some oldie but goodies like Third Rock From The Sun and News Radio. :thumbup:

If you're cool with REALLY old I like watching series likes Taxi, The Bob Newhart Show, Mary Tyler Moore, etc. It might jsut be that they're kind of nostalgic for me though, I watched them a lot when I was younger.

I've watched both Firefly and Serenity. I didn't like Buffy or Angel, but Firefly was good... really good. Farscape too even though the puppets made me laugh.

Moon and Sunshine were great, especially Moon! TBH I didn't really dig Inception like everyone else. I liked it, yeah, but I've never wanted to watch it a second time.

Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite animes, always has been since it came out.

Dexter I've seen them all, they're ok... I actually like the dry humor. Breaking Bad was great. Oh yeah, and Battlestar Galatica... what can I say, it's one of my favorites :wink:.

Anyway I'm not going to go over the whole list, heh, but there's a few mentioned I didn't even know about... so that's enough to keep me busy. Thanks! I'm watching Cowboy Bebop: The Movie right now. Oh shit, watch "jPod" if you haven't seen it... fucking awesome canadian show about some game programmers that got yanked after one season. Main character's mom is growing heady weed in the basement... shit is just really fun to watch, must see for anyone who's counterculture friendly.

Watch "Spaced" it's a comedic series, some of Simon Pegg's original work from the UK.

Animes, watch Death Note, Code Geass, and Evangelion series if you haven't seen them?
