I can't believe all this "government gun-snatching" fearmongering.

Nobody wants to see a Branch Davidians scenario on a national scale.

The elites might be out of touch, but they ain't that out of touch.

Big armies are notoriously bad at defeating stubborn people with guns. You've got to have no grasp of history or understanding of modern warfare to think that it's impossible, much less improbable for an armed militia to win. Furthermore, if you think that we as a people do not have the right to overthrow this government, I can see you disregard the constitution in all respects and have nothing further to argue with you.

On the other side of the argument, not one person when asked for a credible advantage to banning guns has had anything to offer. I've asked multiple times.

The truth is that it's not much harder to kill a lot people with a knife or axe than a gun. A kid in Germany axed 13 people at school last year, which is right on par with columbine IIRC. If the kid in Arizona had used an axe it could've been a lot worse, he wouldn't have ran out of ammo. If the V Tech kid had a blade he could've shanked everyone leaving the classrooms. This is the same tired argument for prohibition anyway. Do you think drugs should be illegal? A lot of idiots get violent with those, too. Hundreds of times that number enjoy them responsibly. Should they be deprived of another freedom for a false sense of safety?

I don't think you do like a good argument, you haven't presented one at all. You made an illogical comment that got historically shut down, so you moved onto speculation and then promptly resorted to a personal attack. Nice job with the gay remark, it's clear to see how such a sharp mind is as good at insulting as it is at debating.

You have noticed that poor untrained gunmen in Iraq are handing us our asses with antique weapons, right?

Polulation of United States: 308,746,000

There are all sorts of factors there that wouldn't apply here.  For one thing, our military is split into huge two adventures in places where we are unfamiliar with the terrain, climate, languages, and customs.  If there were a large enough domestic threat, the military would definitely pull out of all international engagements to stamp it out in a unified manner.  It would be easier to cut all supply lines because the government holds sway over all infrastructure and doesn't have to broker deals with neighboring governments.  There would be no language barriers so militias could be infiltrated and destroyed.  And the U.S. is so vast that there would have to be a huge concerted effort from all corners by the opposition to take hold of any substantial region.

Maybe I was extreme when I said "even if everyone were armed to the teeth", but then that is an extreme scenario; and even if it were the case, it would be easier for the military to deal with than Iraq and Afghanistan because everyone would be an enemy combatant so they could just bomb the hell out of everyone without concern for civilian casualties.



I think your veiw of the power of the US army is HUGELY Inflated by TV/movies and all that secret super weapon propaganda bullshit they put out there, more then half the US troops are not going to fire on there own civilians in that situation GUARANTEED. So half these troops are going to be firing on the ones that are willing to shoot there fellow american along with revolutionary militia, And your seriously under estimating the ingenuity of man in a situation like war. Army Supply lines could easily be severed by guerilla forces and people infiltrating the army itself from within. your army would get fucked in the ass and left to bleed out in the street.


Not like that situation will ever happen though.
