Chipped 1/4th of my molar. Dentin is exposed. Doesn't hurt. Need advice
    #13768233 -

So yeah, it chipped for no reason while I was eating. Didn't hurt when it came off, doesn't hurt now. It kind of hurt before it broke, but it was barely noticeable.

So the deal is this. My dentist can't give me an appointment for a few months. There's clinics around which might be able to help me out, but I don't trust them as much as my dentist, nor do they know what kind of procedures I've had in the past (neither do I, lol). My dentist does, been with her for like 16 years.

Should I wait for my dentist or get it looked at by anyone as soon as I can? There's no pain, nor sensitivity, but hey, it's a broken tooth.

thank you!

I should note, I would actually prefer to have it looked at by my dentist. I was just wondering if this is an urgent matter.

If i were you, I'd just be conscious of it and try not to chew your rocks and minerals on that side of your mouth.

A couple months isn't long enough for it to be a problem, or I'm sure they would have told you that-- they're not going to put you in harm's way by with-holding the info from you just to get you in their door over another dentist.

That said, it's a minor procedure anyway, right-- it's not exactly a root canal to fix a broken tooth-- just mold, harden, and smooth a filling.

:goodluck:

Thanks for the reply. That's what my dentist told me over the phone - that if it doesn't hurt, isn't sensitive and didn't bleed when it broke (which it didn't), it should be a simple procedure. Should I use stuff like Listerine in the meantime, anyway?
