girlfriend got a few stocking stuffers, i hired an artist to make a custom steam-punky clock for her, and tickets to a concert.  Mom I got headphones (damn good ones at that, best IEMs I've heard) and a swiss army knife (she lost hers due to the TSA :lol:).  Sister I got phone case and scarf.  Girlfriends parents I got prints of the gf that are pics I took (I'm not some putz with a camera btw)

I got:
My dad a bottle of muscadine wine
My stepdad some hickory farms sausage
My mom a charm bracelet, necklace, and pajamas
My boyfriend a coffee grinder, some coffee beans, some cologne and a bunch of different hot sauces

I think I love giving gifts more than recieving them. It feels good to see other people happy when they open their presents :grin:

Bought a Wii for the girlfriend as well as some pink converse chucks, just dance 2, mario 25th anniversary, epic mickey, and a pink wiimote.

Got her sister Twilight Eclipse.

Got my brother a Pinnacle Ultimate Collection 14 Studio Movie Box

Got the mom an HD webcam, and the girlfriend's mom a Lily teapot from Pier 1 imports.

Pretty happy with this christmas.

Admittedly Christmas has become so commercialized thanks to retail and media that people often forget the true meaning behind Christmas and the reasonings for celebrating it.

However, it truly is a good feeling to be able to give, even if it's something small. It means you remember. Maybe next time you can see what sort of talents you have, and figure a way to reach out to your friends and family and have something to offer using said talents?

In History, poor carpenters and artists would build and paint things, or musicians would write music and play them for their loved ones in dedication to their memory.

I got my parents some Amarula.  It's a South African cream liquor that they haven't had in 14 years.  Also got them their favorite candies.

My brother got a belt buckle, a bottle of Jager, and a starbucks gift card.

My grandma got an organic cookbook, expensive nail hardener, and some South African chocolates.

Most of my friends, and my cousins got South African chocolate.  The stuff is expensive as hell though.  Like 4$ a chocolate bar.  Ended up spending ~90$ on South African chocolate. :lol:

Agreed.  I spent Christmas eve with our neighbor.  She doesn't have any family here, so she was so grateful to have someone to spend time with.  We all got hammered, ate great food, and had so much fun.  Then on Christmas, we spent the day with my uncle, aunt, and their kids.  I haven't had that much fun in months.  Two 8 year old twin girls, and a 4 year old boy.  I played board games with them, played with Nerf guns, covered each other in silly string, played with their new Wii, ate great food, and had an incredible time.

I don't care if Christmas is commercialized.  It's my favorite time of the year, and I love spending time with family and friends.  And to me, that's what Christmas is about.  People, not objects.

got my parents books they wanted.

got my girl pajama pants and fuzzy socks.

got my sister Clerks on dvd.

and the best present I gave was to my grandmother whose been in the hospital. I bought a book called 14,000 things to be happy about. its a pretty lame book, just a list of things, but I went through the whole book and highlighted things that I know she likes/ wrote comments beside some of them and printed out some pictures of me my sister and girlfriend. I spent more time on it then I did studying for most of my finals.
