I can't stand snow but I am happy because I just got a job shoveling snow at a snoody rich close gated community for $15 an hour. :laugh: It's snowing money right now as far as I'm concerned.

shoveling snow is really hard work. You deserve at least $15 an hour, imo.

When I lived in Flagstaff, AZ (city with the second highest snowfall in the USA), both of my roommates worked exclusively as snow shovellers, just moving snow off roads and roofs and stuff. they made $16 an hour, but they worked hard as fuck for that money

I love first and second time of the year it snows, after that I start hating the shit.  Its the only good part of the winter though, I fucking hate the cold.

This will be our second snow fall, and it's supposed to be a doozy!
Something like 5-8inches by 10, then it's supposed to get even worse.

I suppose I could reasonably tolerate snow if it was associated with 60 degree temps.  But it isn't and it sucks all the cocks that ever were.

at least.  it used to piss me off when i worked with a friend of mine shoveling, plowing and snowblowing for a night.. he would total arout $900 and I'd get about $75 of it if I was lucky.. even though I did all the hard work and he just sat in the truck and used the plow.  but it was fair to him because it was his (his dad's) equipment that we were using.

I could see if I was working for a company cleaning driveways and making $15 bucks an hour. thats fine. but if your good friend asks you to help him with his snow moving jobs, he could at least give a 20% cut or something.  It just seemed really fucked up at the end of the night when he walked away, fresh, alert, not soaked in sweat and freezing cold with a pocket full of almost a thousand dollars. and I'm shivering my balls off, soaking wet, freezing cold, tired and with a nearly thrown out back from shoveling, and I don't even have $100.

I mean, sure gas for the machines is a factor but these guys make a fucking killing when it snows.  they can easily come out of a single day of snow with thousands of dollars.

He had the investment and the sales.  Those things didn't appear out of thin air.  You were a grunt.  He does seem a bit cheap though.  Not a lot, but somewhat.  Even being the vile capitalist pig I am I would've probably tossed my friend at least a whole C-Note.

I'm in mass waiting on 2+ feet, can't say I mind too much... gonna try to hit up the mountain tomorrow for some snowboarding if the roads are clear enough :laugh:

I just wish I had some bud, maybe whiskey, and a fire to chill on while this craziness finishes up tonight.

fuck that shit if he wanted cheap labor he shoulda picked up some wetbacks in front of home depot. He asked his friend to help out, he shoulda split it 50/50 or at least helped out with the grunt work.
