I'm here in Charlottesville, VA.  Last I've heard, we could either get the crappy half of the storm (1-2") or the fun half (6-12"). 

Either way, I wish I had some drugs to join me while I play in the snow!

Sweet, I'll be down in Florida for Christmas...

I love a good snowfall, but before my major concern was making it down south before the weather got too bad.

I kinda hate to miss it tho, I love snow.

Feedingmydreams, you are my own personal forecaster.

Although the last storm you were way off. We only got about an inch of snow and then sleet and ice.

Still, much love. I hope this season is shaping up to be like last year. We must have gotten 50+ in total

I was in Keswick (Glenmore) at a customers house Saturday. They barely had any snow on the ground.

While here in Chesterfield we still had 3 inches.


So completely backwards.

That'd be awesome. Believe it or not I've never been snow skiing. But I've been waterskiing and Wakeboarding for the past 10 years.

I've done some work at customers houses in Ski Chalets in Wintergreen. Man those heights did a number on me, especially when I was hung over.

I got caught up in the hype the last storm.

Mixing is def going to be an issue in NENC and a little in SEVA.

If I had to guess: 5 inches for Norfolk, 8 inches for Newport News.

To them it's like a blizzard of epic proportions.

Especially with the funds they have allocated towards snow removal.

That's pretty much how it is here. Preparedness is key.

I'm in the 2" to 4" range here wich has often ended up being closer to 24" in the past.

Wow, it might actually snow in SC on christmas.  Though I'm at the very edge of that.  If we get 1 inch down here people will be freaking out.  Everytime we get even an inch of snow all the schools and even some businesses close instantly.

Same.  The Hampton Roads got a good 1-2 inches of snow on Dec 16 and all the schools got shut down for two days which turned into a 4 day holiday.:lol:

Long story short my girlfriend went with her family to Jersey for Christmas, and I didn't want her to go to begin with because there are never definite plans on when they come back. What do you know! Perfect excuse for her family to stay a couple more days because of bad roads! :suicide: Seriously I'll go in my rear-wheel drive car if this shit gets pulled again.

About 1.5 inches of snow so far, it's been light and not really sticking to the roads.  Then 6-10 inches of snow expected on Sunday and another 1-2 Sunday night.

When I lived in Flagstaff, AZ (city with the second highest snowfall in the USA), both of my roommates worked exclusively as snow shovellers, just moving snow off roads and roofs and stuff. they made $16 an hour, but they worked hard as fuck for that money

at least.  it used to piss me off when i worked with a friend of mine shoveling, plowing and snowblowing for a night.. he would total arout $900 and I'd get about $75 of it if I was lucky.. even though I did all the hard work and he just sat in the truck and used the plow.  but it was fair to him because it was his (his dad's) equipment that we were using.

I could see if I was working for a company cleaning driveways and making $15 bucks an hour. thats fine. but if your good friend asks you to help him with his snow moving jobs, he could at least give a 20% cut or something.  It just seemed really fucked up at the end of the night when he walked away, fresh, alert, not soaked in sweat and freezing cold with a pocket full of almost a thousand dollars. and I'm shivering my balls off, soaking wet, freezing cold, tired and with a nearly thrown out back from shoveling, and I don't even have $100.

I mean, sure gas for the machines is a factor but these guys make a fucking killing when it snows.  they can easily come out of a single day of snow with thousands of dollars.

haha yeah sorry bout derailing the thread, I got screwed over on the snow too. I'm in northern Virginia and we didn't get shit, but everywhere to the south and east of us got dumped on. I'm thinking that the storm is clinging to the coast upstate might be the same as it was here.

The last I checked, Norfolk is sitting at 14.2 inches and it's still snowing.  So far this is the 3rd largest snow storm ever for Norfolk, VA.

About  2 feet near Hackensack. Big drifts, and some areas blown clean,,,Half the driveway and around the car was dry asphalt:thumbup:. I'm all shoveled out but I haven't seen or heard a plow since before 6AM , and the streets around me are fucked...  NJ State of Emergency.:yawn: . . :peace:

Yeah, airport is closed and the streets are fucked, my girlfriend's flight got cancelled. A friend of mine posted pics on facebook and the snow is up the the door handles on cars. Snow drifts are over waist deep in some places.

yeah, my neighbors had a real chore today with shoveling.  I didn't though, when I was sleeping the public works of the town actually made sure my shit was ready to go since I'm an EMT.  Little do they know I was planning on tripping today  :rave:

I went sledding while tripping though, and it was weird, i got attacked by little children throwing snowballs at me and a few tried to tackle me :lol:

I just spoke to a of mine in Newark and he said that EVERYTHING in the city is closed... except Crown Fried Chicken at Broad and Central, surprise surprise :lol:
They're having to ration crack and grape soda.

He said they got about 23-30 inches of snow depending on where in town you were and winds were 40-50mph. Fucking stupid city didn't even start plowing major roads (like Broad, Central, Raymond, MLK, etc) until 2PM today.

Even by Canadian standards...Thats a LOT of fuckin snow the last time it snowed that much was during a massive blizzard almost two years ago. It still snowed more then that, a old lady even died in it from exposure. :omgz:

I had a fuckload of fun wandering around in it to get to the store just for kicks :lol:
