You could add water to the too-hot-Chili until it's reduced in its spiciness, to your taste, then strain-off the excess water, back to the original amount you wanted at the beginning. Then, add back ingredients, tomato sauce, seasonings etc. to season to taste.

i'm no chili cook but, why not add more substance to it so that it's more diluted? like cut the product

chili is made out of beans right?

so add more beans that arent spicy?

The only easy way I can think of is just do up the size of the batch and leave out the heat. Once its in there its hard to get out.

You could adjust it by volume - add more tomato sauce for example. If you add beans the liquid component is still going to be just as hot.  Or just top it with sour cream which is what I would do. Hot = good

oh and from that linked list, cooking with potatos which are then removed does work.

edit: I am spelling poorly today

I think a few potato's a bit of sour cream and some sugar would be your best bet.

So... No one has been in this situation and tried any of these methods?

In a tester bowl baking soda worked very well but also made it frothy; which was unpleasant.

There's not much you can do at this point that'll leave you with chili that tastes good.  Since capsaicin binds to all taste buds in the tongue, not just specific sections like other primary flavors (sweet, salty, sour, bitter), you'll have to overpower the spice with sweet, salty, sour, and bitter flavors.  That'll throw off your chili flavor.

Yeah other than dilution (with the proper ingredients), you aren't going to cover up the heat with spices or anything. The potato idea does work, a little bit. Otherwise it is hard to correct the heat without changing the dish. Good luck though! I would leave that shit hot, add sour cream and love it.
