todays masonic jewels and nick-nacks
    #1359726 -

the first two of the lot consist of an enameled silver 32nd degree jewel and another jewel ive yet to identify.
both came with sash and belonged to the same owner.
the three-link chain medal had a duty stamp on it. originally from the USA dated at around 194? (very faint) and seems to originate in missouri.
the 32 degree lewel is more identifiable. tho the name of the owner has been scratched out, it can still be identified as Cyril Eudia Coste Ruthelford (or something very close) and is dated april 26th 1954 which i assume is the date of its original owners raising to the 32nd degree.
these were owned by the same person and originally purchased in an estate auction, the owner is deceased.
i cannot determine why the name was scratched out. i first thought perhaps these were stolen items.
it would seem the owner originated in MO, USA and moved to NS canada sometime in the late 40s/early 50s, i might determine he is a smoker, thogh the ashtray seems unused (and isnt washable) and i know he drinks coffee because the back of the lighter sash is stained with coffee in a few spots. it however is not noticeable  from the front. both sashes show strong signs of aging as though they've been folded up in a box for decades. i will try to remove the creases from the silk/lambskin, but there is heavy wear, perhaps these items were moved around alot in a bag or something in their folded state.

and heres an ashtray/ciggarette holder. i suppose it could double as a pot/joint holder  it is dated 1955 multi prod.inc.2

gotta love how old masonic stuff is always dated

al together for these 3 items i paid $100 canadian.  pretty steep, but i know they are worth more than that.
and in a few years who knows? i have no intention of letting them go in the next few decades

Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?

Is it all you want it to be?

How do you know? And why don't they talk about it? Are they a cult or something?

more like a fraternity. you either have to know a mason to become one and be unanimously voted in, or you have to petition the masons and do all kinds of silly question answering and stuff. I've read things about the freemasons before and they are an odd bunch, but they are also one of the oldest 'secret' societies still around today.

alot of conspiracy theorists believe the masons are connected with the Illuminati and have some secret knowledge, god knows what that is supposed to be.
