Hey, does this look like oyster mycelium, or cobweb?

I started them on popcorn 5 days ago. The PC ran dry after 45 min at 15lbs and had to be turned off This is my first time using a PC, or popcorn, or oyster, or any other edible for that matter.

It is Pl. djamor.

I started some Shitake ( L. edodes )at the same time. I can see a little bit of growth in one spot in one of the shitake jars. All of the oyster jars are showing vigorous growth. (of something)

How did you inoculate it?
From agar?

probably oysters, they are quite vigorous. generally. Give it some time.

looks the same as my golden oyster mycelium too me :smile:

Agaricus bisporus looks even more like codweb lol.

Cool. The shitake is only visible in small spots in between the kernals where they touch. Does it grow mostly inside the kernal?

Should I shake my jars? I know some fungi like being shaken, and some hate it.

I think shiitake is just very slow to colonise.Or mine is anyway.
I have some dowels covered in a thin layer but its taking an age to thicken up.
Do you rate popcorn as a grain?ive been using millet.

Shiitake slows for a few days after a shake but it seems to work out much better with oysters imo.

I'm impressed with oyster on popcorn so far. It's been 5 days, and there are fine strands of mycelium almost all the way to the bottom on the side directly beneath the innoculation point. I've never used grains before, so I can't compare it.

I've also never done oyster before.

I used 2cc per jar. How long do these syringes keep?
