Startin another grow feelin a little iffy.

I just inoculated 5 pint sized jars, 3 with Freestone Texas and 2 with good ol' albino A+. i'm kinda worried about contams though, despite the verm  layer, they're like 2-3 weeks old because i premade them and i wouldn't think they're too dry, plus the syringe fluid would hydrate, but being too dry is still a possibility. anyways over these 2-3 weeks they had some type of medical tape over each hole and i pulled them out, sterilized my work area, then made each needle red hot and took an alcohol tissue and wiped each one down once to prevent from getting little charred bits in the jars, then inoculated the jars, now this is all good but when i stuck the needles in, it made a hole about needle size and it was a rather large syringe needle but not huge, probably the size of the tip of a mechanical pencil, so i'm just hoping contams don't slip in through the holes cause i couldn't re tape the holes because i had no more tape. and there isnt a risk of contams because the jar age, if there was any contaminate in there it would have already taken over, so in know it's good. but i'm just wondering if everyone thinks the holes will be fine. sorry i'm a little paranoid now, i'm high on hindu kush.

if you have the dry verm layer you dont need tape but i'd be careful since those jars sat around for 2 weeks. even a pc cycle at 15 PSI for 90 mins does not kill all contaminants only leaves a pretty clean substrate that they mushroom mycelium can take over. so being that the contams had 2 weeks to do their thing there is a chance that the mushroom mycelium will not fully colonize all the jars.

BRF/VERM and water are cheap, i would start some fresh jars :smile:

i was just assuiming that if there were contams in there that  they would have already made their presence known by now
