SWIM Started with four 1 lb rye grain bags. Inoculated on 2/12 with Freestone Texas strain. Not a lot of activity until this:

SWIM was afraid that one or two had succumbed to cobweb mold, however that was premature worry. SWIM knows everyone suggests using jars and decided to make some as well. More info in next upload.

A few days later. There is a lot more growth. This one has growth on the TOP of the bag. Amazing.
SWIM was drunk when taking these pictures. Quality suffers.

At this point, SWIM made 10, half pint jars and inoculated with an amazonian multispore syringe.

3 PF Style Jars - Amazon about a week old. Used 2 Ball half pint, wide mouth freezer jars and a pint, regular mouthed canning jar. Surprisingly, SWIM had no problems with them, figured they would, but it's not over til it's over. Jar 1:
   Jar 2:
    Jar 3:

Spawn Bags are in good shape. SWIM was impatient and decided to disperse the mycelium throughout the bags, probably too early. Perhaps SWIM didn't break it up properly, I'm not sure, but they seem to be doing fine. One bag was completely colonized. SWIM decided to break it up again and try to case it, but when broke it down to small chunks, SWIM noticed a lot of blueish green mycelium. Not sure if it was full blown Trich or blue-green mold, SWIM decided to wait over night. Looking at it now, it seemed to have disappeared. SWIM is not sure if s/he should case it now or wait.
Broken up bag:

Other bags:

It seems I have a lot of excess moisture, not sure what to do about that, or if it's normal. This IS SWIM's first time

Yeah, SWIM kinda just bought these from a sponsor. Figured the smaller the bag, the less time to colonize, and therefore less time they're really vulnerable to contams. Out Grow really is the shit. If SWIM decides to go with bags from here on out, they're gonna try bulk.

Just to bump: I cased the bag in question. Probably a little too early. We'll see how things turn out in 3 - 5 days.

Starting to pin.
   Yeah, very blurry, I know.
I got a lot of side pins, some are bruised. Shoulda used a bigger tub, or one that's sturdier. Anyways, really excited.

SWIM got em from K mart. Made a batch of 10 of em, but only knocked up 2 because SWIM wasn't sure how well they'd work. One of the Purple lids ended up cracking when steaming them. They're doing amazingly. Amazonian must be a really aggressive colonizer. Look at this growth.
Maybe the high moisture content causing all the rhizomorphic growth in the dry verm layer? Any way, SWIM hopes they're done in the next week.
The casing is doing very well. SWIM noticed they have more aborts than pins, but it's getting there.

NEED SOME HELP :P
Should SWIM be concerned? SWIM assumes this is just bruising from not maintaining high enough humidity, however SWIM isn't sure.

The last one is from where it was touching the side of my tub. SWIM removed it from the tub earlier today. it's not soft or excessively wet, nor smelly. SWIM is going to see how it goes, if it gets worse, SWIM is just going remove them. Should SWIM do that now?

Looks dry as hell in there. That cap is cracking from being so dry. Are you even misting/fanning them?

SWIM does, once every several hours, SWIM doesn't understand. I ordered an ultrasonic humidifier, but it won't be in for a week or two

Yeah, it's a 58qt sgfc. 6 inches of perlite. Thanks for the help. Should SWIM be concerned about contams though, at all?
