Growroom humidity question

A guy I met in a bar said he had a fairly large room that he was trying to set up so that humidity would be autonomously regulated but his current setup was proving to be 'unreliable' and would have to be monitored and adjusted very regularly.
I was wondering if anybody had some thoughts about my buddy's situation.

He said the space in question was about 7ft wide, 8ft long, 8ft high.
Some of the things I've read on this board suggest that ultrasonic will make the environment too wet if left on 24/7 but that coolmist is perfect if left on all the time. Are both of these still true for larger areas? Also, would it be more useful to simply let the unit humidify the room normally, or would it work better to run some pipes around the room? And would that depend on the type of humidifier? What about using a humidistat, any thoughts on that?

Any comments, questions, facts, theories, stories or whatever... ?

Your friend would be best off purchasing a copy of The Mushroom Cultivator.

In my opinion, a cool mist would not meet the needs of such a large space, or even come close. 1-3 air exchanges per hour and a 84% rh would be very hard to obtain in a large space without a proper grow room and the right equipment. However, this is not my area.. but the Mushroom Cultivator has entire chapters dedicated to creating an optimal growroom.
