Yeah, I did some research on the web. July is the month they come up. I'm hoping i can spot some in the time range I'm going down there.

Where I'm going my family owns acres of land that are grazed with cattle and sheep. So hopefully i get lucky.
Since i have yet to find any actives in the wild.

I would love to trip to thunder and fireflies. :dancer:
Hopefully i can find some cool fungus down there too.

I'm not sure of the pasture land actives down there, but it seems like A. Rockafeller found a load of good stuff in the forests and mountain area.

Good luck, sounds like fun.
Thunder and fireflies would be a mind blower on a heavy trip.

I was just in formed I will be heading down to Mexico in June to visit some family.

The location is about 30 minutes from Tabasco, Zacatecas, Mexico.

Anyone know if there will be Actives there around late June early July?

I am about 100 miles from there right now.

Use google earth and look for the greenest spot you can access, maybe near Cienega de Gallardo.

In pastures there will be Panaeolus cinctulus, Psilocybe mexicana, Psilocybe cubensis and Panaeolus cyanescens.  These mushrooms are boring, instead look for Psilocybe zapotecorum and villarrealiae in canyons and places where organic debris gather, 1200 - 2200 meters elevation.

Also read  Acosta, S. & G. Guzmán (1984). Los hongos conocidos en el Estado de Zacatecas (Máxico).-. Bol. Soc. Mex. Mic. 19: 125-158.

June is kind of early but if the rains come in May there will be a lot of mushrooms.

Thanks Alan, Yeah hopefully the season can start a little early while I'm down there.

I'm taking my friend with me and he is into mycology so we plan on finding many strains.

I will be getting a nice Digital Camera for the trip. Thanks a lot and i will make sure to keep everyone posted when i do go down there.

:whatever:

Personally I'd prefer checking the pastures, and once I'd gotten the confidence booster of finding all those actives I'd try and find the rarer ones. :super:

try to get in contact with the locals and natives. print a pic of the hoogshagenii and show them. they will tell you where to pick up these little angels

i´ve never been to Mexico yet

it´s not all dry in whole Mexico
it is almost humid in Oaxaca and the beside ares from February till May as far as my knowledge is concerned

Prankster239 planned to visit this place in February especially to find the hoogshagenii some years ago. his plan died because of less money and new family

i didn´t give up my hopes and dreams and never will :mushroom2:
