Active Mushrooms on PEI (edit: pics please ID)
    #732440 -

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows if there should be any active mushrooms growing on the east coast of canada, specifically PEI, this time of the year. Some people at work were talking about going picking, but I thought Liberty Caps only fruited in the fall. Is it another type of shroom they were talking about, am I wrong about lib caps, or are they just retarded?

They could be picking Panaeolus speices mushrooms, but you are correct, Libs fruit in the fall.

Do Panaeolus speices look similar to libs?

Sometimes...from a distance or before you know what to look for...but after you have picked your share, you will usually not mistake them for libs...

Cheers

Nice large pics...they look like paneaolus castaneifolius to me..spore print should be black/purple black. If the have the correct print...then you are in luck and they are active...cheers...enjoy.

how many of these mushrooms should I take for a level 2 - 3 trip. I've never eaten this type of shroom before and I'm not sure how potent they are. I'm making a spore print now, hopefully they actually are active cause they are growing everywhere, we just got a bunch of rain.
