What is good about PC apps is alot of the real neat stuff is free or has a free alternative.

It's one of the cooler things I've seen, definitely. There's nothing else like it, that I know of. I should posted a sample video.

Be more specific, "cool" is subjective.

Like games, or networking shit, or media players, or apps that use accelerometers?

You've still got to be specific; an "app" is nothing more than compiled code in the form of an executable on a platform. Don't try to be looking up phrases like "apps for PC" or shit like that, instead search for things that would do the task you need done.

Songbird (second time I've linked here tonight) is pretty cool, plays music, finds music, finds concerts in your area, recommends music based on your interests, has tons of add-ons (like firefox).

as far as apps that take advantage of an accelerometer your computers going to need to have an accelerometer in it and most likely be a laptop.  and I don't know of any, apple is where you'd go for stuff like that.
