The playoffs are a total crapshoot. You ought to know that. Wildcard teams win all the time. Talented teams will always have better records over a 162 game season, but over a 5 or 7 games series anyone can win.

I do know that.  I also know that the wild card team in the AL may well be the best one anyway.  I just don't think Atl, Cincy and SF are much good at all.  Texas is decent but I think TB is better and the Phillies are clearly the class of the NL.

Which, of course, can be totally undone by bizarre circumstance but nonetheless remains the handicappers' choice.

Ugh, I went to the Braves/Giants game today.

That was the most bitter loss I've ever been at the stadium for.  We took the lead 2-1 on a Hinske home run in the 8th, only give it back in the 9th with one out left.

We lost that game because of errors.  Hudson pitched great, and we couldn't give him any support.  There's no excuse for clumsy errors in the postseason.  Typical Braves in October.

Each of these two teams has some serious starters but other than that they are both deeply flawed and have almost no shot at getting through.  Of the 6 teams remaining they are by far the weakest two.  I might go so far as to say that they were the weakest two out of all 8 teams that made the playoffs.

How do you figure?

At the time Wilson had pitched 7 shutout innings. Then not a single person in the bullpen could get an out.

I think it was more the imploding of the bullpen than his fault :shrug:

I just hope the Yanks lose.

He didn't use his best reliever in a situation that clearly called for it. He failed. Washington put in Clay Rapada with the game on the line. Clay Rapada and not Neftali Feliz. Clay Rapada is not a major league quality pitcher.
