I just finished season 1 of BSG and starting the second season, I'm in love.

I enjoyed Lost, the finale was a letdown in my opinion, but the show as a whole was great.  Beautiful environments, lots of wtf moments and touching moments.  John Locke is still my favorite character on that show.

I recommend watching Firefly if you haven't already.  I hate FOX for cancelling it after one season, so much potential awesomeness wasted.  :minigun:

I'll chock up one more vote for Lost. Though I agree on the ending, it was a let down. But for originality and a one of a kind, it was awesome. Dexter is a close second. though it pissed me off that they killed Rita. That chick was doin' it for me.

I haven't caught up on my Dexter this season; Rita gets killed?  I don't know about you guys but... well, I guess it's not TOO cold to say this about a fictional TV character ... I'll be glad when I catch up to the point where she's gone from the series.

By FAR Dexter is Michael C. Hall's best performance yet.  Yeah he was good in 6 Feet Under, but he pulls off the sympathetic neurotic serial killer so well that it's almost scary. 

It's so hard to try and pick any one show; television has gotten really good (and in a lot of cases really bad - Jersey Shore anyone?) and there are a lot of gems out there.  I started out saying "Battlestar Galactica, hands down," and Starbuck probably is my favorite TV character of all time, but after hearing all these fantastic shows mentioned here I find it impossible to choose favorites now :smile:

The Wire being based in my town certainly encouraged me through all the seasons.  I wonder if that disqualifies it.

Lost wouldn't get my vote here because of the show's tendency to have crazy things happen and then never explain them.  As far as being hugely entertaining, LOST definitely has that, along with a great cast.  A lack of logical continuity in the storyline, and in a lot of cases the tendency for the behavior of the characters to make no sense, keeps LOST out of my "top" list, though.

I watch plenty of great shows, however, The Office takes the cake for me. I know, many would disagree, but it's just my opinion.

It's the only show I could never get bored of watching. I've seen every single episode at least four times each... and it never gets old

hands down, without a question, there is no arguing the fact that the finale for Six Feet Under was the best finale for any tv show ever.
