Best TV series ever made
    #13337917 -

I finally just finished watching Battlestar Galactica (the "new" one,) and despite my love for a large number of television series', I have to say without reservation that this series is the best TV series I have ever seen.

I'm sure many will disagree; tastes differ, people look for different things in their entertainment.  As someone who grew up reading Asmiov/Heinlein/Clarke, and with all my other interests, this series has managed to maintain a suspensful storyline, rarely if ever slow - let alone boring - and just when you think you have it figured out, you get turned on your head yet again.

So my question is: What according to you guys is YOUR favorite, and in your opinion the BEST TV series ever made?

Seinfeld, hasn't been beaten in ~16 years for me :vaped:

Lots of epic shows that have reached it's level but none have surpassed it.

ooh good choice.  Not sure if that would be my number one in the comedy genre, but it'd be darn close.

And that's why!  I hadn't even thought of those two; I recently finished watching all of Futurama, and think I like it more than the Simpsons.  It seems to have a lot of very witty stuff that it's fun to catch!

Great show - and shot (and based) in my home town!  "The Corner" , both the book and the TV miniseries, were written by the same two journalists and are definitely worth checking out if you like "The Wire" (and if you have a thing for Baltimore!)

thank you

As far as straigh up basic network sitcoms go, seinfeld takes the cake too. Larry david kicks ass.

The wonder years was also a great show. And freaks and geeks. They were both just really genuine feeling, not too overdramatic like seventh heaven or dawsons creek or some shit.

As far as reality/game shows go, id say fear factor. I can't believe they only made $50,000 for doing the crazy shit they did. You could win thatmuch cash on who wants to be a millionaire in like 5 easy questions.

I also enjoy family guy, ren and stimpy, rockos modern life, spongebob, beavis and butthead, superjail, and other animooted delights

One of my friends says Deadwood is his favorite TV show of all time.
I think it's next up on my shows to go on a marathon with. I'm gonna download the first season one of these days - I'm sure I'll get hooked real quickly.

I'm surprised that we haven't heard from other BSG fans yet   Every series mentioned so far though has been excellent - I haven't seen Deadwood though, but it has been recommended to me.  Now I will be sure to check it out.

Trailer Park Boys is my favorite show, though I don't love Seinfeld any less.  I can sit down and watch every single TPB episode back to back, I can't say the same for Seinfeld.

I'm giving another vote for Deadwood.  Only detractor is that they didn't get their promised final season from HBO to wrap up everything, so it kind of ends unresolved.

Also, big Battlestar Galactica fan here.  It would probably be my number one pick, but I was severely let down by the finale.  I felt like they didn't give a coherent resolution to all the "mysteries" they had set up throughout the series.  In retrospect, I think Ron Moore just pulled one mystery after another out of his ass and figured he could find a way to resolve them by the end, but then found he couldn't so he just ended the series by basically saying, "God did all that stuff, don't worry about it."
