Flowhood Filters and Blowers

Im starting to build my list for my flowhood...
I was looking at the filters at Fungi Perfect, and figured i might as well get atleast a 36x24...
They didnt post very much info on the filter...Any of you guys know any details?

What type of blower would i expect to need for a filter this size? >700cfm?

how many grows do you have under your belt ?  if many why use a flowhood, and if none, why not do like 99 % of us and just be sterile and use your money on other things ?  just asking

Just because you've had many successful grows under your belt doesnt mean you don't need or want a flowhood to do some sterile agar work or what not. Obviously a flowhood has a special purpose, and that is why this guy wants one. Nobody asked shit about what you think about the usefulness of a flowhood.

On topic: For 36x24 You will need 600 cfm @ 1" of static pressure, or roughly an 800 - 1000 cfm rated blower depending on the model if you cant find the spec sheet on it for the exact air movement at various pressures. It doesn't have to blow exactly 100fpm. 90-150fpm is acceptable.

Does it have to be at 1" static?  Iv seen alot of the filters on ebay rated at like .8" static @ xxx cfm airflow...

just find out what the blower blows at 1" SP if you can. You can add a few furnace filters to the prefilter or even block off part of the blower intake to add a bit of pressure to the intake if you have to, but like I said it doesnt have to be exact. Most filters are rated at 1" that I have personally seen, but there are obviously different ones around. It's not really rocket science and it doesn't have to be exactly matched to make exactly 100fpm of air out of the filter. I just gave you the information you need to get very close, nothing more.

5-7/8 filter thickness is what you want, and the kind with metal separators between the filter pleats is ideal. The filters at Fungiperfecti are great and you will have a hard time finding a better deal.

I dont recommend buying a filter used on Ebay, there is no way to know what kind of life that filter has had. I once bought a sweet 48" hepa on ebay listed as brand new. Yea it was brand new alright...sitting in a box for well over 10 years and with a cracked particle-board frame.

Sucks ass...most of the ones that im seeing on ebay are really thin if they are not flanders...
Prob gonna take it to Fungi...really like that long one
