Option to auto-ignore opt outs.

People opt out of ratings for a reason.
Rather than wasting time and energy and server resources finding out why,
I'd like to have the option to just ignore all opt outs automatically.

You know there's like 250,000 members, right?

Most of those on my list are from Mush Cult, underage, growing in a dorm, too damn stupid, or whatever.
Half of them are probably banned anyway.
I ignore anyone that looks like they might get busted, I don't want to be indicted as a co-conspirator.

Doc, you contribute some good stuff but I think you're getting weirder than me ~ the ratings system doesn't relate to age and I don't think that as a strategy will protect you.

I mean I can hear what you are saying, but we are actually on a psychedelic site, in the tek areas and some of us posting prominently - there is no filter against that.

I think your antennae are going to serve you better than any filter, except registration years and post history.

Ratings system isn't what I'm talking about in the post above.
I have more people on my Ignore List than most people. Many of those are from Mush Cult, and are ignored by my policy.
I just don't want to be associated with some people- here or IRL.
There are people I don't go visit, for example, because they could be busted at any moment, and I don't want to be there when it goes down.

But opting out isn't age related.

You been here a year and a half and made over 20,000 posts primarily about cultivation - that's pretty prolific. ANY person on here could be construed as having "learned it" from you or point a finger.

My misunderstanding was that I thought you meant that if people opt out of ratings, they are automatically a minor - so you were thinking that by auto-ignoring the opt outs, it would be a minor sheild. Sorry all that went over my head.

But face it - you are Shroomery furniture wall-papered all over and when they come to hang the lot of us, they will for sure say "and we want that Doc_T too! He knows stuff!" :lol:

You know though - I think Shroomery's standard legals offer us all some general protection. Seems like we went over that stuff years ago (because of me) and felt about as secure as one can in this environment. But I don't do that thinking...

Doc_T, I can lament with your sentiment about OPT OUTs- there seems to be a substantial correlation between opting out and being an overall shitty poster.  However, there are a handful of opt outs on here that are alright... opted out for some principled reason, I guess.

An auto-ignore feature seems pretty lame for that reason.  Opt outs are quite a minority and often derogated for their very self-inflicted status.  There used to be an opt out list floating around here, although the list was incomplete and is probably no longer updated.

Also, my ignore list trumps all.  It's a time-consuming pain in the ass to get your ignore list this big.  :tp:
