RogerRabbit said: Good luck. The problem is that nobody has isolated a specific trigger for the production of psilocin and psilocybin. Lots of us have tried all sorts of things, and just when we think we're on to something big, the next test done the same way yields a different result.
I've seen no evidence that psilocybin is produced in response to stress.
I've seen no evidence that psilocybin is produced more or less depending on substrate choice.
I have seen evidence that isolated, high potency strains have less variation between fruits.
I have seen evidence that smaller mushrooms are more potent than large mushrooms.
I have seen evidence that mushrooms grown in colder temperatures are more potent than the same strain grown in warmer temperatures.
No magic bullet has been found that can be added which will cause the mushrooms to be more potent. RR
awesome, I was really hoping someone with a lot of cultivation experience might show to this thread. this is great for me to know humidity tends to make lipids hang in moisture in the air we breath, and some of these lipids will be phosphorus containing naturally. I really want to try a grow with a form of phospholipid injected and also just in the environment. To see if the mushroom is using environmental factors for its psilocybin. Also, apoptosis of cells could result in the gaining of phosphorus.to make psilocybin, but to me, the actual cell death is much less likely to be the reason psilocin is in the mushie. If apoptosis was the culprit, I think it would have ready been discovered. Di methylated tryptamine is of course in almost all living.cells, but this doesnt mean the psilocybin was at one time a dmt molecule inside the cell, it is however very probable. This one I can rule out by simply injecting a small and large amount of dmt directly into the stem and seeing how quickly they die, heh. Living organisms tend to respond to a need to survive, large amounts of dmt could be enough of a stimuli.to survive, who knows, way to many.factors in play.when guessing.
The fact that presents itself to me is that the molecule dmt would never become psilocin except through an extensive and tough process for the mushroom, so if it is dmt - psilocybin there must be a reason such as downgrade signaling of receptors saying this needs to be acted upon, act upon this receptor, dmt gets metabolized down a pathway and boom receptor acted upon. dmt which is structurally similar to many serotonin lookalikes, will not work on the receptor it needs to and results in the mushroom needing a binding molecule. This in theory would explain why psilocybin is found in greater ammounts then psilcin, the mushroom then uses psilocybin as the regulator for receptor binding, only making psilocin when needed. Now sorry for the ramble, and i hope you takw thw time to read this because my fingers hurt feom tyoing on my phone haha . Anyway, just more speculation that I may end up.getting useful information to back up. We get our 5htp from cheese, mushies get their molecule to make psiloX from the substrate, and if the more "molecule to make psiloX" the more psiloX was true, I wouldassume this would be common knowledge by now. Hmmm....... what is in that substrate that I wouldn't know about....
Coffee grounds in substrate huh? Those grounds sure do.carry a myriad of molecules for the disposal of the mushie... anyway I will be heading to the store tomorrow for a bottle of dextro. I will then base and head to a high-school friends house to check for nmda receptors, these binding sites.are.almost similar in amino acid residue as a 5ht receptor with the addition of a single acid, this will give me an idea of the proteins avaliblw for cell receptor production. Who knows what funky molecules bind to the fungi cell....... not me.
