Ecstasy Rising Documentary
    #13113942 -

Is it worth watching? I would love to watch a documentary on rave culture but I'm not sure if one exists so this will do for now.

Here's the link: http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/ecstasy-rising/

What I don't get is why did they say "ABC News television documentary with Peter Jennings on the history of MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine) also known as ecstasy."

I've read over and over that it's N-METHamphetamine, and not methyl. is it a difference? I don't really remember but I don't see how MDMA can be both unless the meth part is just a methyl group or something

I have not it seems exciting though.

I'll probably watch that instead.

Is it rave-friendly? I just recently got into the rave scene. Rather not lose my love for it within the first weeks of getting into it lol.

I would definitely recommend this video to anyone with the time to watch it.  It talks a lot about the studies that have been done on ecstasy use.  The first major study, backed by the US government, claimed that ecstasy could decrease your brain's production of serotonin by 80%.  It also claimed that one "dose" could cause Parkinson's disorder - this finding is based on results from injecting monkeys with what was supposed to be MDMA and was later found to be methamphetamine.  The scientist's work was majorly flawed, and he declined to even talk to the interviewers in this documentary.

The more accepted study, done in Germany, has found that ecstasy may decrease your brain's serotonin production by about 5%.  It definitely doesn't "put holes in your brain" either.  These are wives-tales told by the DEA and other anti-drug government officials.

There is still a lot of uncertainty on the effects of MDMA because (at least up to the point of the making of this documentary), there is only 1 widely accepted study.  The results of that study may require some replication before it's commonly accepted as truth.
