got a ticket for no seat belt..
    #13066122 -

Even though I was fucking wearing one!

So I'm on my way to pick up books because I am going back to school this fall, and I see a state trooper on the other side of the road.
I'm driving the speed limit, no worries. I look in the rear view and see this asshole bust a U in traffic and speed up so he can get behind me. I'm approaching a red light and this asshole is flying up behind me, driving like a complete idiot. The light changes and I move on, proceeding to get in the left lane because I am driving slow anyhow. BOOM! Lights go on, so I pull over.

He tells me he pulled me over because I was not wearing my seat belt. I was wearing a seat belt and pulled on it to show him. He says I am wearing it 'improperly' because I have the strap that goes across your chest tucked under my arm (because it rubs the shit out of my neck). Then he ask if I am wearing corrective lenses, which I am not.

"well you're just running into all kinds of trouble today aren't you.."
  :ifyoucanawe:

So he sees that my wife is wearing glasses and tells me we should switch because she is wearing her 'corrective lenses like she should', blabla. He doesn't even check her license. For all he knows she could have had her license revoked for drinking and driving or some shit.

Anyways, he gives me a ticket for no seat belt (even though I was fucking wearing one), and a warning for no corrective lenses (which I really don't need and will be going to the DMV to have that restriction taken off my license).

How the fuck does that make sense?

Endangering no one for notwearing a seat belt (even though I was)

Or not wearing corrective lenses..

I think that asshole just pulled me over because I have a beard, and he wanted to see if I was up to anything suspicious.

Most people wear corrective lenses because they have vision problems.

Usually, not being able to see will affect your driving.

Make sense?

fight the ticket, go in plead not guilty and fight the shit, cop most likely wont show up for a seat belt ticket anyway, but there's rarely a provision for wearing one properly

here's an example of state laws for seat belts, in these it actually gives
numerous defenses for not wearing one at all

Cops have certain days every 2-3 weeks that they are expected to be in court to uphold their tickets. It's part of their job. They just can't skip out on it.

I've never seen or heard of first hand where a cop didn't show up for a ticket... Well there was one where cop had a stroke and was intensive care about 3 days before my friend was due in court for a PCS. It was dismissed.

And the cop died a month later.

Yes, I comprehend that.

My point was, why would you give me a ticket for no seat belt, and a warning for no corrective lenses.

Would it not make more sense to have given me a ticket for no corrective lenses and a warning for no seat belt?

I could have understood that logic a lot more.

Instead he gives me a ticket for no seat belt (when I was wearing one.)

Of course, the no seat belt ticket cost more.. go figure.

I will certainly be contesting this ticket.

To top it off, the cop was a fucking ginger!

God Damn Ginger's will take over the world one day. I don't trust them one bit. I heard they don't even have a soul.

That's bullshit about the ticket, I'd defiantly contest it. If I can get out of a DUI with purely luck, then you have a chance on a seat belt ticket.

Yeah, it definitely should have been a warning since you were just wearing it incorrectly but you should have just lied about the contact lenses. Fight it.

Was there a stipulation on your drivers license that you have to wear corrective lenses to drive? There's a reason why they give you a vision test while applying or renewing a license.

Not everyone can be of the master race like you.
Maybe he was just jealous that you have a glorious beard and he has to shave his face and let his freckles SHINE!

My favorite part was how he backed out into oncoming traffic, facing oncoming traffic... instead of just making a u-turn on the side road we were on.
He was just a little high strung.

I always wear my seatbelt. I always did since I first started driving. And an accident 6 years ago solidified my stance on seatbelts.

You see the shattered windshield? That's where my friend cracked it with his head. Bent the steering wheel severely and he had a mild concussion and had to get glass pulled out of his forehead.

Fortunately we only hit the tree at 20-25mph.

A) seatbelt is attached to back of chair. no matter where you move the chair, seatbelt stays in the same place.

2) I'm sorry people don't know how to read.  or, they just read the subject of the post and don't read the content and think that they know what you're saying.

And lastly, people like these are the people who gave you the ticket.
hahahahaha

You said it right there. If you were in the front seat while driving, the seat belt would be on your shoulder.
Unless your a midget, in that case, I apologize on behalf of aiyobro and myself.

Yes, I should have been wearing my 'corrective lenses'. Seriously though, my sight is fine and I am going to have that restriction taken off my license. I can see just as well with no glasses as my wife can see with them. I drive better too..

If you can get that restriction removed from your license before your court date that will probably look better for your case even if you only got a warning for that.
