you can get a cheap kit for under $20 at the craft/fabric store

but if you want to do a lot, check out dharmatrading.com

that's where I ordered all my supplies last time.

I am going to check that site out. :super:

I'm bumping because I've since gotten shirts and Rit dyes and thought I'd share my firsts.

The Dye placement is good, but those would look 10x better with the right dye.  If that's Rit then they will start fading quick.

procion MX fiber reactant dye

it's a two step process, you must soak the cloth in soda ash to raise the PH of the material to about 10, then when the dye is applied it latches onto the fibers and permanently fuses with them.  You also need a urea to add to the dye.  the kit will contain everything you need and provide you with instructions.

Damn, i wanna learn to dye myself i'll have to get one of them kits you guys were mentioning. But as for awesome tie dye shirts i think this is my favorite http://www.hippieshop.com/cgi-bin/gold/item/21031 ; that site has a ton of bad ass shirts so if you're lazy like me there ya go
