The only time I tie-dyed a shirt was in primary school when I was about 5 :lol: Nice shirt though.

OP and happytrippin, you guys are good at that.
How did you learn and how long before you could do anything near as cool as what you are showing in this thread?

One of my good friends taught me a few years ago. And it's taken me about 2-3 summers of dying to be able to get to where i am.
There's some pretty good books out there on tye-dying, i can't remember what they are off hand, but if you're interested, i could dig them out and give you the titles.

Like instantly. The best shirt I made was like my second one. Just do a little googling, go to a craft store (the internet is always better) and get some supplies and remember that nothing you do with tie-dye is wrong.

There's a kit out there that I reallllly suggest for beginner tie-dye, it looks like this, they sell it in some craft stores like AC Moore and Michaels, i'm sure it's at other places.



It has a cheesy DVD that tells you how to do it, all the supplies and some dyes.

headbands.. like the really loose and wide ones girls wear. they have them at cvs

wish i still had the balls to wear tie-dye around here. got tons of shit from my friends which didn't bother me all that much, but cops constantly pulling me over because of profiling did. i mean cmon, i 'drive' a freakin' mountain bike and get pulled over a fair amount if i don't at least tie my hair back and make a little effort to look normal. always with some story of how someone fitting my description just committed a robbery or what have you. i live in a pretty small town and let me assure you there's no one around here that looks anything like me (maybe the odd tourist)
