Anyone here a snake owner/lover?

I'm the proud owner of two ball pythons.

I've had a few rosy boas and a king snake.  Not really much of a snake person though.

I love my ball pythons.  They are the best pets I've ever had.  I can't wait until they get big enough to have babies.  Is yours a ball too?

Yeah man, but snakes are pretty cool.

My neighbor had a huge one..I'm not sure what it was called but I'm pretty sure it was illegal.

like this thing was a good 10 feet long(give or take) and like thick as shit.

(this is not a penis joke)

Knew this thread would involve something like this

And to the original subject, never owned one but snakes are pretty awesome. I had to borrow one recently for a performance I was doing that involved belly dances and fire. It went awesomely but some of the guests were shocked that I could be so relaxed with a snake wrapped around my neck and shoulders

Probably a Burmese python. A guy I knew had one approaching 12 feet.

And they're not illegal.

I have had my second ball python for about 2 months now. The first one I left in my bed and it crawled by my belly and I smothered it in my sleep.

I bought a book because it wasn't eating and the book said that when snakes try to lay themselves out flat next to their prey to measure if they can eat it or not. Pretty slick.

I have noticed that my snake has machine elves waving at me all over its patterns.  :3rd_eye:

The snake is long, seven miles!

Ball pythons are really docile, and are usually really tame.  They don't require a lot of attention and eat once a week when they are young and every other week when they are adults.  Their substrate is inexpensive and clumps like kitty litter when they pee/poop.  It only needs to be changed completely once a month.  When they are young the eat mice, and thats about 1.50 a week, then they eat rats when they get big enough, mine just started rats and he is 6 months old and they are 2 bucks.

They only poop about once a week unless they are going into shed and it will take a few more weeks.  Just make sure they have a hiding cave and fresh water and they are happy.  They can go a few weeks without eating if need be, although it's good not to make them do that, and they will be fine if you aren't home a lot.  I get both of my pythons out everynight and let them crawl around on me, but they would be fine if they went a few days without attention.
