May have to buy a handgun for my own peace of mind after talking with the Police over some robberies
    #12966197 -

So as a few of you know I used to work for city government.

Anyways I worked with a couple of guys there one being 19 one being 20 the maturity just wasn't there for the youngest one.

To complicate the issue the guy lived two doors down from me on my block.

Anyways I became friends with both of them and the youngest approached me with a high schooler about robbing homes in the area. I said I wasn't interested and tried to distance myself from them.

The next day they came over with two military style knives and a tazer. They said these were to incapacitate people in their homes if their were issues. They had also bought full cover paintball masks. The kid had serious emotional issues and this was brought on after playing alot of Call of Duty 2. The kid wanted to be like Ghost so started this crazy shit and furthermore his partner was a highschool senior.

Furthermore my older co worker who I am now very close friends with and who was living with me for a short time recently lived in an extremely expensive home his mom drove a BMW and the rest of us were fairly low middle class.

The two guys asked me if I would be down to take my friend out get him drunk so they could rob the home and they would give me a cut. Shortly after the kid had a break down and quit the city.

I took this as an oppurtunity to warn my friend of what they asked me to do. Now about two weeks later a Police Officer came to our base of operations for the city given were city government it made the situation even more akward. He said he had been hearing my friends name around the highschool (The one who they asked me to rob) and he proceeded to tell them why and what was going on. He mentioned that I had more details something I regret on a logistical level but on a moral one I had no issues cooperating with Police on the matter.

I actually contacted the Officer myself and told him to come back to the office and I would clear up what was a very mis construed ill informed situation for him. Considering this stuff was now showing up at my job which is government I had no tolerance for this bullshit.

I told him what they asked me to do and what they planned.

Shortly after the kid who asked me to rob houses got arrested for vandalizing his ex girlfriends house and moved away. Today I saw a moving truck and he is moving back in with his parents two doors down.

About a week and a half ago the dude was flashing signs at me now I know he isn't gang affiliated but he obviously holds some animosity and is unstable.

Fact is I am getting a hand gun soon. After I talked to the Police they had kids over here punching on the door and I put a knife on him and scared him off.

Given I spoke with Police and this guy is a known trouble maker in the community and even had that vandalism charge recently if I am forced to defend my property if he comes with violent intent pre emptively with something as effective as a handgun do you think I'm looking at serious court costs and a potential charge?

I would get a gun, and the moment you see him with a gun then you use yours.

Otherwise I would just Mace him, or tase him, depending i you have the balls to risk getting pepper on yourself in doing so- this is all if he decides to invade your space.

I wouldn't be surprised if he actually was gang affiliated. Be careful, sleep light.

Where I used to live, if he moved in right next to me, I would have just gone over to the thugs and told them he was flashing their gang signs, then they would go beat the fuck out of him. Or kill him, either way i wouldn't have anything to do with it, but I doubt you're in a hood that nasty.

I just broke my leg practicing martial arts less than two months ago and had to have a knee scope I'm still in no shape to defend myself in hand to hand combat or I would be alot less worried.

As for gang affiliation he is a white pickup truck driving red neck who would have had to get affiliated from December to now. I simply doubt it. Also moving back in a nice area with his parents seems rather counter productive to the freedom he would have had for that lifestyle. My money is on him just being batshit crazy.

As for getting mace on myself I could care less. I walked home and waited 8 hours to see a doctor when I broke my leg. A little bit of pepper spray to take a threat out isn't going to be shit.

the chances of you being charged in the event of a shooting are slim as
long as you're defending yourself, if you get the weapon, get a concealed
carry permit, at this point even if you live in a state where there has to
be a 'just need' you should be able to qualify under that clause, the
reason for the CCW permit is so that your weapon isnt left at home while
you're working and it'll be on you at all times

the way I perceive it, even though you were asked to assist this guy in his
plans, you're still on his target list because he's an idiot that most
likely cant make the connection that asking you to help him rob people you
both know tips you off that you're also a future victim

hand to hand capable or not, the odds of you getting cut are extremely high if he has a knife

Absolutely.. I have been trained enough in disarming people to know I suck at it. I have lost my balance and alot of muscle speed since breaking my leg.

I also am most proficient with throwing and considering my knee cap dislocated and broke its still in a weakened state.

Also the kid placed in state for wrestling in high school. Were both fairly good fighters and simply put if he has a knife I am confident hell be capable enough to use it.

Now this could end up with him simply coming over for a good old fist fight but even than my leg is still healing. If he came over and I could do it within my legal rights I would square up and brain him that simple. My body is weak right now and he obviously is mentally ill.

I've found disarming someone to be extremely easy if you use the 2 .45
rounds to the chest method, most times you dont even break a sweat

I have over $1100 dollars in smoking glass at the house so I hope it doesn't come to that.

Depending on where he approaches me on the property I could see them going all CSI and I wouldn't want to leave the property after that goes down just to get rid of a bong some bubblers and pipes.

But the alternative would be worse so it's something I'm going to need to prepare for given the hostile gestures and looks I was getting last week when he was visiting his parents sitting outside.

I have experience with shotguns and rifles ranging from a 20 gauge to an AR15 handguns however are a weak point.

I may also look into just getting a shotgun since I shot my first one at around 10 years old and feel comfortable enough with them.

Also that cock sound is enough to make most prospective hard asses shit their panties.

I would get a shotgun. Better for home protection and you don't need a permit.

Or, if he's armed with a pistol, it'll make him react instantly and shoot you. And what if he's out of range for your shotgun, but close enough to take an accurate shot at you with a pistol? I say buy a .22 rifle with a scope so you can get him from the distance, and a 9mm pistol as your sidearm just incase he gets close before you could finish him off with the rifle, if you can afford it that is. Also a gas mask to protect you from a mace attack couldn't hurt any.

This is war, dude, be prepared!

If I'm getting a rifle it's going to be a left handed AR 15

I have friends with multiples right and left handed who would sell me one at a deal I think.

Only downside to that is if I miss it goes through a car and three houses.

Then take cover on your roof if you can get up there, and angle your line of sight downwards so that after the bullet leaves his body, it hits the ground/dirt/grass. Definitely get a scope!

Just be safe, man, this guy sounds like he doesn't play by anybody else's rules, seeing as he has no qualms about being aggressive towards semi-cripples.

Tell him you're a Crip.
