i was in agreement with you up until you decided to throw that superfluous and hypocritical insult in there.  do you partake in illegal substances without caring about the slim possible chance of legal repercussions that could stem from your use?  yes?  exactly.

you're right that it's a risk assessment.  i enjoy getting high and watching futurama at my leisure.  the slight risk involved is worth it.  in the remote possibility that i am to face a civil suit, you may very well see a thread about it in which i proclaim "well fuck, this sucks," but that'll bout be the extent of it.

I think at the core is something simple...

ENTERTAINMENT IS A LUXURY, NOT A RIGHT.

Some people cannot afford it, but they feel entitled to it and they will conjure up any excuse to get it. :shrug:

people don't often respond positively to condescending holier-than-thou arrogance.  it's the a primary reason why most of us dislike organized religions.  you're opposed to it?  great.  i fully support you in your maintaing your set of values.  just don't expect to enter the discussion preaching your values to everyone and have them accept said values as their own.

i didn't say i expected anyone to, but thought there was a chance.  I also thought people would have been more opened minded and respectful since it was a show that they liked and had trouble in the past, i thought they would have been more supportive since it was something they personally liked and would have wanted to save and help succeed.  even if your a semi decent pirate, episode release day viewers are important...its just whenever there's a pirate thread its like its taboo to talk about ANYTHING legit, there should be some amount of respect if you actually liked the show. instead its "haha's" about how bad they can screw the company over or how they are doing gods work

There is no chance I'll miss it on TV. I've seen every episode of Futurama like a million times and I still always watch them when they're on.

The troubles it had in the past were absolutely in no way shape or form related to people downloading the episodes.

Fox killed it, Cartoon Network brought it back from the grave and Comedy Central gave it new life.
