Sounds like your pinn's aborted. I'd pick them and get them out of your tank before they rot and hurt the rest of your cake. Also when you pick one of the pinns check it by squeezing it. If it seems hard as a rock then they were to dry. ------------------ "IT's two in the morning.....Do you know where your flashlite and paper bag are?"

The bluing you see is from oxidation of some of the chemicals in the fruit. Their in essence dying, and usually at this point you cant save them, they have aborted. ------------------ "IT's two in the morning.....Do you know where your flashlite and paper bag are?"

When you pick the mushrooms, where do you pick them at?? Right where the stem comes in contact with the cake? and do you pull it out, or cut it with a knife? ANd lasty, do you do it differently for aborted shrooms than you do for the good ones?? THanks

Well, I've just about decided the damn cakes turned blue because of SERIOUS dehydration. Using less water than the TEK called for, and the extremly dry climate spelled death for the cakes. The ones I ditched were remaniscent of dry bread. Lack of moisture caused the mycilia to stress. There are still 2 cakes that are producing Primordia slooooly. Gave them a little H2O uptake by placing them directly on the peralite. 1 cake, the one that had ample H2O is growing...it's flush should be FAT! Any way the point of this missive: Follow the TEK (duh) If you live in an arid climate you probably need to increase the H20 content to compensate. Blue cakes are from stress, either lack of water, or phyisical trauma to the mycilia. You can get the cake to uptake some water by putting in on the perilite. I'd only do it in case of emergency though. and lastly, if you are impaitent...don't grow em go buy em...the neglect TEK goes a long way.Happy trails Effexor
