you have a good point OP.
it's funny, my family is doing really well right now, better than most families it seems. we're comfortable middle class. my parents are both engineers. and everyone is really quick to tell me i was born with a silver spoon.
but we're religious refugees from the third world. for literally half of my life i've lived in projects located in black ghettos. now my parents live in a nice fat house in the suburbs of san francisco, a place i also lived for a good while. it took so much effort on their part to make that shit happen; immigrating to a foreign land, no language, no money, 3 kids, having stupid fucking americans talk down to you because you can't speak english, and the stigma from being from that part of the world. we had it rough, but my parents always made sure we were comfortable. we never starved, you know? i think thats pretty hard to do in america. but damn people are so quick to tell me i was born with a silver spoon in my mouth...
and you know who always tells me that? motherfucking bitch ass american born assholes that can't grasp that they're the ones that have been born with a big fat silver spoon sticking out of their asses. and they'll never know. they'll always be bums, because it seems americans think you can have it all without working for it.
i'd never fucking take back what i've been through, because i know i'll always have more respect in this country than them.
