WHICH IS BETTER WBS OR RYE GRAIN

I was just wondering wich is a better spawn material WBS or rye? Does anyone know if so please help.

This is one of those questions that can only be answered by yourself, which do you like better? When creating your next batch of jars, you should try both, and see which you like best. From what I hear from my friends, millet is what they like best. Check out your previous post for some visual aids to back up my pro millet propaganda.

Ya I use millet I was just wondering if I should change or not but it seems I am useing the right stuff.

IMHO, WBS is better. WBS is Cheaper, provides more innoc points, easy to get the moisture level right & does not have a tendancy to clump in jars or bags (as rye does - sometimes).

I have used both & had good results with both. You should simply try both & decide what you prefer.

popcorn, imo, is better than either.
the grains won't burst no matter how much water they absorb,
it colonizes faster and the air exchange is better, giving more mycellia in a jar than is typical with rye or wbs.

yes, i have been impressed with people's experiences with popcorn. as soon as my gigantic bag of wbs is gone, popcorn is next.  :grin:
