They had no respect for him. They were fighting and one of them pushed him quite forcefully. They(the girls)are wrong, period.

She assaulted an officer that was trying to detain her friend, who was resisting arrest

It was either a punch or a tazer or something. I agree, it was a bit unorthidox, but the punch didn't even knock her out.

the way I see it, they dont have to have respect for him, they do need to
respect the position, not knowing about the initial contact, we dont know
if he had started off being a dickhead before she even said a word...
given his demeanor during the altercation it doesnt seem likely

Hey man, I'm siding with the Police on this one. That girl deserved to get punched

Seriously... Jaywalking is what?  A 75$ ticket?  She's going to jail now.  Retard...

Here the maximum fee they can make you pay for jaywalking is 10$ and you can talk your ass out of it

The way those girls were acting, i'm sure they were mouthing off to the cop when he was trying to ticket her, but of course we don't get to see that.

At least the one guy with those girls pulled the 17 y/o off the cop.

If I was the cop in that situation, I would have peppered that mouthy whale, and start laughing hysterically.

:haha:

A Seattle police officer punches a girl in the face after he tries to cite them for jaywalking.

Video of incident - http://newsroom.blogs.cnn.com/2010/06/16/police-punches-17-year-old-girl-during-confrontation/?iref=allsearch

It seems as if the girls are resisting arrest, and they start to get a bit pushy which is why the cop acted the way he did. It's tough to tell without a longer video showing the events beforehand.

Another cop abusing power?

Did the cop do nothing wrong?

Discuss.

Lay your hand on a cop, expect to get punched. What he should have done was whacked her in the face with his club.

And then Tazed her.

And then pepper sprayed her.

Of course he could have but then the "police brutality" people would have all been whining.

If that would have been a man nobody would give a fuck. Girls can't expect to bitch at the police and not get cuntpunched.

BECAUSE:

-he has a super cool flat top

-he is fighting with that girl like he's her sister.

-the sidewalk is an awesome place to park your cruiser (especially if your on an intense power trip, and need to show people how powerful you are).

(pigs don't give a fuck about blocking traffic, that's not the reason he parked there, it was for intimidation.)

-he goes to grab the girl in pink and decides, "nah, grabbing isn't working". and does the only logical thing in this situation, which is to fully cock back that meat-hook, and LET 'ER RIP!!!!

-his "knockout punch" barely phases a 17 year old girl.

-he punched a girl

-he punched a 17 year old girl

-he punched a 17 year old girl while in a police uniform

-he punched a 17 year old girl knowing of the 15 other ways to calm the situation down (they are trained to do this)

-he has his department behind him on this, but all of his fellow cops now know that he is the biggest bitch ever, if they didn't already.

he should have just pulled his gun, its only logical... he couldn't take down the one in black, so what makes you think you can take down the one in pink that is double her size?

unnecessary force indeed

I would have knocked her out. Don't try to fight with a cop, they will beat your ass.

She committed a actual crime that could have hurt herself or others. The officer was trying to do his job. What a dumb bitch.

you probably wouldn't even try to help your friend if they were gettin wronged by the police.

you'd probably just watch, like a little bitch, as they yelled for help, and were beaten and arrested...

they did break the law, but that doesn't mean what the cop did was okay.

there was no reason for that shit, it was a girl.

there's a hundred other ways he could have handled the situation, without violence.

if he was having trouble maintaining control of the situation, which he was, he should have avoided any physical contact, and called for assistance.

there's fault on both sides.

On another note, that video is fucking funny. and realistically,  would have probably helped, had it been watched prior to jaywalking.
