No its impossible. I know its not pure chemicals because my entire experience is not a chemical. I know color is purely an experience and I know it exists in all its variations so I know there is a reality beyond the physical.

 You don't know anything of the sort.

Without chemical reactions taking place in you right now you would not perceive color. In fact you'd be non existent.

Show me color without an eye to perceive it. It may exist but that has noting to do with consciousness.

By using color they can tell the basic chemical make up of stars.

The point is its not physical and it exists, therefore there is the metaphysical. Can you get this or what?

I can't wrap my head around something that makes no sense. "See" I'm not an idiot.

Actually that is not the color I'm seeing and yes chemical reactions in my brain via my eyes create an impression of color. Without my brain and eyes, color does not exist as you know it.

Even if that is true, like I said it does not matter. The point is this.. is the color your brain or your eyes?

There are numerous factors regarding psychiatric or mental illness.

I will agree that psychology in general relies on behaviors and actions to determine diagnosis, but that's not the whole kit and kaboodle.

There's also family history, genetics, hormone levels.
As for the physiological testing-most good (I say "good" for a reason) psychiatrists or psychologists will send a patient for medical tests to determine the possible cause of any psychiatric ailment.

MRIs, PET scans, as well as EEGs are often implemented to determine if there's abnormal patterning or other possible issues regarding one's physiology.

Further, perhaps the single most mysterious psychiatric illness is still not well understood, and the community at large was hopeful a decade ago when the dopamine theory was prevalent for explaining schizophrenia. Now of course they feel it's also genetic

We should all remember that medicine as a whole, in its current iteration is only a century or so old and modern science a few centuries older than that.

The Myth of Mental Illness  If that doesn't work, try the book (same title and author).

oh no.. my bullshit meter is beeping...

hang on did he just say that we use colour to tell the basic chemical make up of stars or that we measure electromagnetic energy?

hang on did he just say the 'impression' of colour?
what the hell is that? is it... a colour?? (yes... duh)

icelander stop being a zombie

you cannot prove any experience exists but it is all we actually know is real. let us not drag this thread along that unrelated dimension anymore.
