I like Fredrik Åkesson, but he's not American.

He's got amazing skills, and incorporates them into some pretty complex music.

IMO.
Steve Vai = Best electric guitarist. His mastery and devotion to the instrument is undeniable, and simply amazing.

Tommy Emmanuel = Best acoustic guitarist. Insane acoustic finger style chops, AMAZING live performances, humble guy and crafts some of the most beautiful melodies i've ever heard.

Dime is number one, hands down. The best current guitarist is Guthrie Govan.

I own that exact model of guitar. The Ibanez jem7v. The best guitar I have ever played in my life. Steve vai is a top 3 in my book.
