Agreed, Grado headphones are the best your going to find. Avoid skullcandy despite the recommendation earlier, they are more of a fashion thing and are incapable of producing quality sound.

skull candy do suck, altho they do have cheap earbuds that are fairly decent in sound quality, relatively. Grado's are nice, but I find them to be way to uncomfortable, after excessive usage they make my outer part of my ear hurt, that could just be me tho. I still love AKG!!! for life!!! :boobs:

agreed, I have the Grado SRi 60's and they are slightly uncomfortable after a few hours. Though, you can buy replacement foam pieces that have a different form, and are appearently very comfy and improve the bass a bit.

The higher end ones that he would be looking at with his suggested budget would already come with these more comfortable foam pads though...

I also have some AKG's, they both sound great, just a bit different sound colouration... I still prefer the Grado's for the stuff i listen to though.

QFT. I have DT770's also. Awesome. Either Beyer Dyamics or Seinheiser. Skullcandy and sony is roflcoptrers.
