I love AKGs. They are sale here as well.

Sony MDR-7506. They are very solid and a worth the price.

Skullcandy makes some pretty nice headphones for cheap.
Can't go wrong with almost any pair of Sony headphones.

Skull candy does have good headphones and the fact that they are cheaper and more sturdy. i have the large over the ear headphones and i bought them last year and they still work great.

I will say that you should buy the best Grado headphones you can afford. They are top of the line.

depends how much you would like to spend, Ive been djing for the past 8 years, and for me comfort is just as important as sound quality. I have a problem with the side of my neck, and so when I have headphones on for 3-4 hours, I get a super sharp intense pain in my ear and down the side of neck , that is excruciating. Over the years, I've tried everything from bose, sony, sennheiser, grato's, skullcandy, denon, pioneer. What I've found to be ultimately the best brand and sound quality was AKG, specifically the AKG K702's;

I use the Sennheiser 280pro.  They are pretty nice and comfy.  Had a pair of skullcandy skullcrushers before and they fuckin broke after 3 months of use.  Really shit construction there.  Anyhow, the Sennheisers have a great reputation across the interwebz and they haven't failed me yet!  :gethigh:

Ultrasone PL's are nice, I've never really used them extensively. Has great sound, I guess it all depends on how much you wanna pay.

if you use a pocket amp with it, beyer dt770's are great for that purpose.  Very lively sounding, i prefer them to my grados.  Just don't get the extended bass version crap.

There's nothing counterculture about that, that's the truf. Skullcandy are cheap, over-hyped crap headphones with a big marketing campaign. If you want overpowered bass and washed out mids, then sure, buy Skullcandy. If you have never used high quality headphones with high quality music then you really have nothing to compare to, ya know?
