So here is my situation. I am in a relationship with a girl whose father is a Lt. Colonel in the US Air Force. He works in the Space Command division.

now, there are some conspiracy theories surrounding USAF Space Command... involvement in the UFO coverup, etc. David Wilcock and a few of the other super-out-there guys even suggest that the show Stargate SG1 was created to mock a real division of Space Command called Stargate Command that was created during the 80s. Wilcock supposedly has insider testimony on this but uh you know how that goes. I never really gave these theories a lot of weight.

So the other day my gf is talking to him and the subject of UFOs comes up, particularly the explosion of interest and videos on the internet and TV. Her dad replies, "Right now the public is being conditioned through the media to be afraid of extraterrestrial threat."

Now, all the stargate stuff aside, this is an idea I can really get behind. With shows like "V" coming out right now it's easy to see how if an ET civilization really did show up offering to help us out, people would be predisposed to being skeptical because of shows like that.

My GF says he mentions things offhand at other situations... goin on an info mission :1up: wish me luck

And wasn't the Stargate series based on a Dune ripoff movie starring Kurt Russell and James Spader?

the weirdest thing about this is that I spent last summer watching every episode of Stargate SG1/Atlantis and then I come to find nout that there's plausible cases surrounding a theory that the Stargate Series may in fact be based on REALITY... and now I feel I've just crossed into an alternate universe through the act of spending all last summer watching stargate :omgz:

Frankly, it doesn't sound like he ranks high enough to be involved in deep conspiracies.

Also "v" was around in the 80's, as were plenty of other "alien-type" movies, shows etc.  I think interest in ET is something of a natural human trait that has been inherently present in man for a long time.  Similar to ghosts and religion.

Do you think that he was just mocking the current mainstream crackpot extraterrestrial views?

People participating in government programs like that swear not to tell anyone on threat of court marshal and imprisonment.  Anyone!  If your gf's dad gets court marshaled and imprison in the near future then maybe you should breakout your tinfoil hat.
