People who wear tinfoil hats: turn on discovery channel, show about free masons

There's currently a show on that is about the free masons.

On a seperate note, I met two people who said they are becoming free masons. Is that even possible? I didn't think you were supposed to talk about that stuff.

It's just a club. They are the least secretive of the 'secret' societies.

Anyone can admit to being a mason, as long as you never tell what you do. Besides, there are many, many "ranks" in their hierarchy. Probably just so the organization makes its money; you usually have to "donate" large sums of money to level up. Any one person, with infinite money, can easily become the freemason's new dungeon master!

I've seen those free mason plates numerous times, one guy from work has one.  I don't  think most people would have heard or known anything about them if it wasn't for the BS on the internet.

Yeah, the Masons aren't really that secretive. Mostly they do charity work.

They just have a reputation because other shadier secret societies have often drawn their ranks from the masons.

Nope, I was told two things by a freemason I know. The more money you have, the faster you rank up. Also, to be a freemason, you need to swear that you believe in a god. That's all he ever really said about it. He has one of those tags too. Fuck freemasonry; but fuck scientology even harder.

my grand father was a grand master as well. my uncle(also a mason), the most passive person i've ever met and who i'd never seen get angry/aggrevated in any way, ABSOLUTELY FLEW OFF THE HANDLE when my cousin and i started questioning him about it.

Hmmm maybe he got fed up with people asking him all these questions and trying to get him to give up his secrets. :shrug: I'm sure I would get fed up with that after a while. I've always made sure to tread lightly on the subject when I talk to my Grandfather or uncle about it.

It's also pretty much a guaranteed way to get ahead in any kind of a trade job. Masons always give other masons preferable treatment.

If I play hockey and two people apply for a job I'm hiring for, one plays hockey and one's a baseball queer obviously I'm gonna pick the guy that plays hockey if all else is equal :shrug:
