On October 23, 2007 the U.S. Government declared War on the American People. HR 1955: The Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act designates every American who acts against the U.S. Government to be a Homegrown Terrorist. If you've ever said that George W. Bush should be hanged as a war criminal, you sir, are a Terrorist. This bill passed in the House of Representatives by roll call vote. The vote was held under a suspension of the rules to cut debate short and pass the bill, needing a two-thirds majority. The totals were 404 Ayes, 6 Nays, 22 Present/Not Voting.
stuff about it. Actual bill. (This is copy pasta from other sites.)

You should be wearing that tinfoil hat to deflect the mind control microwaves they beam into us night and day.

well the good news is that it has only made it to the house so far. it passed, but then again, what the fuck doesnt? does the house EVER say no to a bill???? lol.
man i just read a good portion of that bill..... it is so fucking vague they could use it in a million different ways to arrest someone. and im pretty sure that by the wordings in there you would be named an enemy combatant and therefore able to be shipped to Gitmo and disappear without legal representation for as long as they want.....
definately disturbing.

I hope you all realize that its not a bill that enforces any laws. If it was it would state the party that would enforce whatever laws they may break when the bill is passed. Also, it seems that the main purpose of the bill is to collect data and help design a way to stop "homegrown terrorists" which is obviously a huge problem in the US (note the sarcasm). Id be pissed if this passed in the senate as well, but there is nothing in the bill that will hurt any of us. What we need to look out for is the bill that is proposed after the data is collected (assuming this bill passes).

sneaky politricks.
this is incremental totalitarianism at its finest.
erect the jail walls while we are all busy chasing money.
no time to protest from 9 to 5.
and those who claim their time are targeted as terrists.
that's what's happening in a nutshell.

I dont believe in conspiracy theories. Dislike the bill for what it is not what you think it may lead to. I dont like the bill because "homegrown terrorists" are not a problem. Its not a threat. I also dislike the bill because it spends money on something that will study a non-problem. Its more tax dollars for us.
Dislike the bill for valid reasons.
Some of you are talking like you havent even read the bill.

whatever tickles your pickle man. some of us know damn well where bills like the patriot act and this are leading to. you can choose to ignore the signs if you want. this IS a free country. for now.
just because you dont believe in something doesnt mean it doesnt exist.

Lol... lumping this and the patriot act in the same category is absurd. I know what the patriot act takes away. I know what it gives to others.
But this is simply a collecting of information about a large group of people that doesnt exist. I hate it for that reason, not to mention the grey area.

like i said aaron, this is a STEPPING STONE. when this inquiry is all said and done they will work on the next step. and with definitions like this:
(2) VIOLENT RADICALIZATION- The term `violent radicalization' means the process of adopting or promoting an extremist belief system for the purpose of facilitating ideologically based violence to advance political, religious, or social change.
(3) HOMEGROWN TERRORISM- The term `homegrown terrorism' means the use, planned use, or threatened use, of force or violence by a group or individual born, raised, or based and operating primarily within the United States or any possession of the United States to intimidate or coerce the United States government, the civilian population of the United States, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.
(4) IDEOLOGICALLY BASED VIOLENCE- The term `ideologically based violence' means the use, planned use, or threatened use of force or violence by a group or individual to promote the group or individual's political, religious, or social beliefs.
anyone can be a target. with this bill, and the bills born from this, combined with the patriot act. the government will have incredible power, power that could make anyone dissappear for any reason.\
hell, you could characterize the US government as a homegrown terrorist under those definitions.

Isn't this what the Bush administration has done. They're making illegal what they themselves have done.
Wow, that's very hypocritical.
wait just a minute chemy! i think youve confused liberating the iraqi people(into more squalor and violence than saddam did) with promoting democracy and the right way of life(western)!! that is in no way shape or form promoting anything political.........

the funny thing is that tin / aluminum foil are great conductors of EMF waves.
what alteredagain said is right. this only further proves what a sham government is. those people don't represent anyone, not even those who "vote" for them.
if you went to a restaurant and the head chef comes out and says "We only have two dishes today, you can choose which of them you want." would you get all proud and tell everyone that you had such a great dining experience that you were able to excersize such a great freedom as to choose between two dishes laid before you?
would you be so desperate and deranged as to think that the dish you chose was just right for you even though you really had no say in its ingredients and preparation, let alone the process of selecting it to be one of the two?
politics is the same way. any sane person would say "No thank you." and go to the next establishment who will give them what they want, or they will just stay home and make their own food!
the agenda is all too obvious by now. what is not so obvious, of course, is what will happen. realize that WE are in the spotlight, but we act like the audience. wtf is with that. we have a collective stage fright that is millenia old.
