oh yah and BTW

SEXTING ftw

Some girl tried to sext me once and it just seemed so awkward and weird to me that I stopped halfway through.
"sexting" IMO is one of the sings of the apocalypse; right up there with when I saw a punk rocker flying a kite.

i think it's pretty arousing

Me too. Kind of a tease and that's just great.

Sending my girl one now. Wet pussy waiting on me FTW!

I don't have any problems with texting personally. I don't abbreviate everything like most people though. However I DO think that people are rather stupid for paying $500 and up for a cell phone though. I need a cell phone to talk and text...that's all! I get whatever phone is offered to me free, or whichever one I can get for less than 100 bucks. If I want to do other things, I have my Zune, PSP, etc. I just can't justify spending so much on a cell phone.

I don't even feel like my phone is worth 500 bucks.

But then again I have every emulator and rom, SEGA, SNES, NES, GBA, etc.

Also, it has youtube and plays video fucking beautifully.

I have a few ripped DVDs converted and put on it as well.

Oh yeah, it also doubles as a 32gb external HDD.

EDIT: Oops, forgot to add that the Google Navigation built into it works better than any GPS I've came across.

Like I said, I have my Zune/PSP for that stuff...and they do everything you listed with the exception of Google Navigation but, I can still use my PSP to look up directions if I need to.

Perhaps I was too harsh calling people stupid for getting the expensive phones...but I'm not going to go out and spend that much money on something that I need for talking/texting. If I didn't have other devices that did the same things already, then maybe I could justify the purchase. But even then, I'd go for a laptop or something before I spent that much on a phone.

I discuss weed transactions via text messages all the time. (buying, not selling) Smartest thing to do? Probably not. But I sincerely doubt they're going to waste time, money, and man power to come and take me down for the misdemeanor weed purchases I discuss on my phone. They'd probably go after my dealer instead.

I actually would like to know details on this. Just a quick summary please.

I know it's possible, but I would like to know how they go about busting people with smartphones.

I agree! But considering California laws, I doubt much would happen to me if they did want to pursue it.

I've gotten used to the fact that being a pot smoker comes with a set of risks. I'd hate to get nailed for possession but, my record is clean and I don't put myself in situations that would get me caught in the first place. (text messages aside)

One text every 2 weeks or so saying, "What up G? Need 100 sack." I'm not too concerned.

BTW, my apologies to the OP. Not trying to get the thread off track

What if you're headed somewhere, only to realize halfway that you forgot to call someone and let them know an important detail? What if you break down in the middle of nowhere?

Then I use a small portion of the big heaping wad of cash I have saved by not having a cell phone to use a pay phone or get a cab.  However, this has never happened to me and certainly isnt worth spending $30 a month for just in case it does.

I think cell phones are pretty convenient, kind of like the internet.

Im sure it is convenient for many people.  If I had a cell phone it would sit in my office desk unused every day.  Plus I dont like carrying things around with me, and they are too expensive for me.  But Im not hating on those that love their cells, its just not for me.

My rotary phone does not have this newfangled "texting" functionality. That is what carrier pigeons are for, consarn it.

Nope I do not do it. It is an easy way to get caught for anything because the text is clearly written.

How much was your Zune AND PSP AND phone together...

A fuckload more than my phone, that's for sure.  And guess how many devices I carry in my pocket ever?  One.

But bitches love texting.

I haven't even had a cellphone for 2 years but I'm getting one again soon. I barely text at all, and I avoid being rude when I do. I think some people get a little TOO offended though, some people fly off the handle like texting in the middle of a conversation is on the  same level of disrespect as skullfucking. Personally, I use texting for short messages and only do whole text conversations if it's a girlfriend or I'm high and bored.

The only time texting really pisses me off is when someone is talking to me and just stop in the middle of their sentence to reply to a text. It doesn't happen very often, but the next time someone interrupts a conversation to reply to a text and forgets what we were talking about I'm gonna start killing people .. Also when you're on the phone with someone and they just start texting all up in your fucking ear every 45 seconds.. I can't stand that shit.

I dont text either. Nothing of substance is ever communicated via texting. When I did have texting people would text me literally hundreds of times a day. All of it pointless. Every 2 minutes Id be bother by shorthand that was barely legible and it'd always be something stupid and pointless.I figure if people have anything of value to say to me, theyll call me.

Now Ive gotten to the point where I hardly use my cellphone even.

The older I get the more I shy away from tech. The more I shy away from tech. The more peace I find and all the noise fades away.

Yeah,

I'm not about to start texting any time this century...

Unless I want to pretend like I'm 15 years younger than I am.
