Like I said, I have my Zune/PSP for that stuff...and they do everything you listed with the exception of Google Navigation but, I can still use my PSP to look up directions if I need to. :wink:

Perhaps I was too harsh calling people stupid for getting the expensive phones...but I'm not going to go out and spend that much money on something that I need for talking/texting. If I didn't have other devices that did the same things already, then maybe I could justify the purchase. But even then, I'd go for a laptop or something before I spent that much on a phone.

I discuss weed transactions via text messages all the time. (buying, not selling) Smartest thing to do? Probably not. But I sincerely doubt they're going to waste time, money, and man power to come and take me down for the misdemeanor weed purchases I discuss on my phone. They'd probably go after my dealer instead. :lol:

I agree! But considering California laws, I doubt much would happen to me if they did want to pursue it.

I've gotten used to the fact that being a pot smoker comes with a set of risks. I'd hate to get nailed for possession but, my record is clean and I don't put myself in situations that would get me caught in the first place. (text messages aside)

One text every 2 weeks or so saying, "What up G? Need 100 sack." I'm not too concerned.

Then I use a small portion of the big heaping wad of cash I have saved by not having a cell phone to use a pay phone or get a cab.  However, this has never happened to me and certainly isnt worth spending $30 a month for just in case it does.

Im sure it is convenient for many people.  If I had a cell phone it would sit in my office desk unused every day.  Plus I dont like carrying things around with me, and they are too expensive for me.  But Im not hating on those that love their cells, its just not for me.

Because its an fed murder case...He shot a DEA agent and sent a text saying it was done..They could tell by GPS were he was...

A fuckload more than my phone, that's for sure.  And guess how many devices I carry in my pocket ever?  One.

I haven't even had a cellphone for 2 years but I'm getting one again soon. I barely text at all, and I avoid being rude when I do. I think some people get a little TOO offended though, some people fly off the handle like texting in the middle of a conversation is on the  same level of disrespect as skullfucking. Personally, I use texting for short messages and only do whole text conversations if it's a girlfriend or I'm high and bored.

The only time texting really pisses me off is when someone is talking to me and just stop in the middle of their sentence to reply to a text. It doesn't happen very often, but the next time someone interrupts a conversation to reply to a text and forgets what we were talking about I'm gonna start killing people :facepalm:.. Also when you're on the phone with someone and they just start texting all up in your fucking ear every 45 seconds.. I can't stand that shit.

I dont text either. Nothing of substance is ever communicated via texting. When I did have texting people would text me literally hundreds of times a day. All of it pointless. Every 2 minutes Id be bother by shorthand that was barely legible and it'd always be something stupid and pointless.I figure if people have anything of value to say to me, theyll call me.

Now Ive gotten to the point where I hardly use my cellphone even.

The older I get the more I shy away from tech. The more I shy away from tech. The more peace I find and all the noise fades away.
