Re: Is Africa oldschool or are other Continents like this? [Re: learningtofly]

Well I personally wouldn't let anyone tell me otherwise if I were in that situation. I would gladly die trying to fight for my freedom rather than stay in some AIDs infested village in a mud shack.

How come some other country with a little more sophistication hasn't taken them over? That's the one main thing I'm wondering about now, it's not like they'd put up that great of a fight.

Then again, who would really want that land and its people anyway?

Dr :ronpaul: says to stop trying to treat the side-effects of big government and focus on the core issues. End the Federal Reserve/audit the gold reserves at Fort Knox, abolish the IRS, end all wars and occupancies, stop the building of an empire that will inevitably fail, and cut all unconstitutional federal programs. Put the power back in the peoples' hands by ending this nanny-state.

it's called a resource trap.

A poor country rich in natural resources will more likely than not, not become democratic because the elite has no incentive to change, they can make all the money they want from resources and not give a shit about what anyone else thinks

Aha!

Didn't even think of that!:stoned:

Better than letting them know what they really got then having to go to war with them over it.

Bet that class teaches you all kinds of crazy shit you didn't really want to know that the government was doing.

I know more than I wanna know already. It saddens me hearing about half the shit the governments of the world do to people and sometimes I just wanna take that knowledge and throw it out the window so I can live life in peace again not worrying about the next move the government is gonna make that may fuck me over.

yah. Every government I've learned about has for the most part been pretty corrupt.
 I have a hard time believing that the U.S. is an exception.

So far, depth we've studied Russia, China, and Mexico. We're doing the UK and South Africa next.
