World of Warcraft

I know a lot of you (nerds) play WoW on here. Anyone on the US server Fenris? It'd be interesting to see if I actually play with anyone.

Anyways, I know I've seen it discussed before and WoW seems to be a lot more mainstream that I had expected to be.

Pst me sometime in game if you're around, it'd be nice to meet friends on there too!

I've seen it other places, but I guess you're right. Either way, I only play pvp a few nights a week. I think that part is really fun.

What made you stop playing?

eh just got tired of the grind really. been playing since patch 1.10 prebc.
plus WotLK totally killed the game for me, the game is nothing like it used to be. i'm pretty stoked for cataclysm tho, i'll definitely be reactivating when it's released.

WotLK also killed the game for me.

Number one reason being they ruined PvP.

Number two being that any 12 year old who can faceroll can play the game now.

Before, skilled players were the majority and took raiding seriously. The only serious raiders are the 12+ hours a day people now, and you get kids in vent and shit. The hardcore raiders are scary people, especially in some cases where you learn your GM has WoW sex in meatspace.

LOL... I think they made the game faster for everyone, so it doesn't feel like such a grind. For people like me who only go on a few times a week and for a few hours, that it feels like we actually accomplished something.

I think the new upgrade will add more stuff for the more "dedicated" players though.

They dumbed the game down so hardcore. Skill isn't even hardly a factor anymore.
It got worse in Burning Crusade, but WoTLK pretty much demolished it.
Cataclysm is probably going to be ten times worse.

I've still been holding on to my T10 geared rogue, and raiding with my guild like one day a week, just to keep his gear current..... so I can sell it. Supposed to sell it to some guy this weekend for 800.

I used to love the game but I can't even stand playing it anymore. I log on for 5 minutes and get bored out of my skull.

Ner'zhul server btw. Which wont matter for long.

I played until lvl 30 and realized its just the same thing over and over except with different scenery. GW is the only thing iv been able to stick with.

ya thats how it was for me the last 3 months or so that i did play it, except when i was on mushrooms :awesomenod:


i have a feeling cataclysm will either take the game back to its roots or be the final end of WoW.
in any case i'll be spending all my time on sc2 once it's released.

It will be the final end of WoW most likely. Blizzard is milking it for everything they can until its completely dead.
Flying mounts in azeroth, complete revamp of azeroth, paid faction/race changes, yeah they are grasping for straws.
They are much more focused on completing Starcraft 2, and Diablo 3. And the NEXT GEN MMO.
IMO they are just stringing wow along. And why wouldn't they? With 13+ million subscribers paying 15 a month, I would too.

Lol, are you guys really claiming vanilla WoW was hard?  I was in a progression raiding guild back then, play casually now... but it's always been super easy.  There are still raids you can wipe on and get frustrated about if you feel the need, all they've changed is that they now allow non-obscenely addicted people to enjoy end game content (getting gear through pvp, etc).  Imo that was a great move.

You really think 12 year olds couldn't play as well before?  WoW has never required anything other than knowing your class, which a retarded person could figure out on the way to 80 (and even 60).

You obviously never raided Naxx at 60.

Death and Taxes wiped for 2 MONTHS on 4 horsemen. Do you remember that?

Yeah, they dumbed the game down and made it super easy for even the most casual of players. A good move on their part, as 80% of their player base is casual gamers. But it dumbed the game down to faceroll level.

i used to get into it pretty hardcore...but i quit a while ago. loved the PvP but i agree they ruined it.

Played this game way too damn long, since closed beta. I'm on my 4th rogue.
This is my last one I swear. Oh well at least I've made money off every account.
