I got a job at Blizzard, now they changed their mind :(

After my interview in Paris i got this emal.

I think congratulations are in order - Welcome to Blizzard Entertainment Europe!

After reviewing the application and interview, we decided that we would like you to join our team as a Game Master for World of Warcraft.

We would like you to start on December 19, 2005.

The next step is to set up everything for your arrival. In order to do this, we need to know the date of your arrival in Paris, and prefer that it is one or two days before your actual starting date.

It is important for us to know this as soon as possible so that we may proceed with a hotel booking. As explained during the interview, the hotel is paid by Blizzard for up to one month. We book the hotel for the night of the day you arrive, allowing you to get a good night?s sleep close to the office before starting. If you wish to arrive earlier, you may do so, however keep in mind the one month limit on what is paid for by Blizzard.

Please reply to this mail as soon as possible. Once I have your arrival date and have organised your hotel booking, I will send you more information including the address of the hotel, directions and other various details.

Should you have any questions, feel free to email me.

After reviewing your application, and the profiles we require for the English GM team, we are unfortunately unable to proceed with your application and can not offer you a position here as a Game Master for World of Warcraft.



We appreciate that this will come as a great disappointment to you and are sorry that we have had to break the process at this time. We apologise for the inconvenience this decision may cause you and thank you once again for your interest.



We wish you all the best in the future.

WTF? I have never seen that happen before. What do you think happened? This is so unprofessional. If there was any discrepancies with my application you'd think they would have identified them earlier before i spend lots of money and a substantial time investment in this.

Yeah your probably right. It was a bit of a geek dream job but with poor prospects for the future. I was overqualified for the position anyway.

They wanted previous experience working in a support position and preferably a university degree, both of which i have. A strong knowledge of the game and community was also a must.

Being bilingual was a plus to.

Fuck that. See what's up. They accepted you for the job, so you'd think they would go through with it. Tell them you already bought a plane ticket and stuff. Try to get some $ out of them.
