Not slagging of Mr Allen here but it's a VERY slow colonizer.
I prefer his Orissa India strain as far as colonization times go & they can grow monsterous fruits !

Bi0TeK, you should not be commenting on strains that you have no experience with.
I found this from December 12th, it's a quote from you:
From what I've heard the Allen strain is VERY slow to colonize although I haven't tried this strain myself..
Maybe you should actually try it before you teach others about it's potency and colonizing speed.
Folks, listen to Roadkill and not someone just passing on information that he has heard.
he is right tho they take longer than other strains to colonize and fruit, at least with my experience.

I just finnished colonizing some more Quart jars of Rye this past week. They took 14 days to fully colonize...I don't concider that slow IMHO. I have 2 jars colonizing some straw...and it's ripping through it very fast. I really haven't had a problem with any type of slow growth with this strain. I might post some pictures in the Grow Log forum tomorrow.
I have a couple "Allen strain" prints on glass slides. Your more than welcome to have one and try the strain...let me know if you are interested. This way you can talk from experience...and actually have some substance to your opinion...rather than listening to here say.
I just got off the phone with one of my test monkey's (metalfinn) and he said that he liked the Allen strain better than the A+ or Maz strains that he tried. But he said he still likes the Cyans better than Cubensis. I haven't eaten any Allen's yet...I only trip every 2 months or so now.

Whoooooooaaa there boxtop703 !!!
I haven't grown this particular strain myself and I wasn't trying to slag off this strain but have tried dry specimens that were given to me by an old friend who I bump into from time to time who has a mutual interest in growing and he said that they were slower to colonize than other strains he's tried growing and indeed from alot of posts on the shroomery this does appear to be the case.
I do not know where he aquired these prints or syringes from nor did I realize that the strain was introduced to the public in November.
Perhaps he was mistaken about this strain I don't know but whatever we sampled that night it was good !
He's supposed to be swopping me some prints for some Orissa prints I've got so perhaps I could forward a print to yourself just to satisfy your curiosity.
Again, I didn't mean to be doing any harm & I suppose in the future I should try cultivating a particular strain before I post anything regarding it.
Regards

That would be cool Road !
When I eventually do get these supposed Allen strain prints from this guy I suppose I could do a little experiment to see if they match up to the ones you send.
Thanks friend.
I'll PM you shortly.

Nice....my jars took about 11 days. The mycelium was extremely agressive, and the fruiting, well, the fruiting is unbelievable:

Perlite I had harvested a few at that point, and some verm fell onto the bottom, hence the off-white color.
