Don't forget the voice mods they are all using now too. It's because rap sucks. 95 percent of it anyways. I can rhyme to the beat of a shoe in a dryer too and sing into a modded mic no problem.

Established rappers aren't making beats mostly.
It's the producer, who is working for what the record label wants.
They tell the artist and producer what kind of song will be popular and make money at that time, and they proceed to produce it.

This ^^.... Most people don't care for thought-provoking, creative, often-experimental, fresh ideas

They want the tried and true 4/4 drum-snare  combo'd with cheap synth riffs

But when you base all your music on sampling other peoples shit, then it's not your music.

Sampling still involves work, i don't get how it's lame.

it isn't like they are using an exact copy of someone else's song and replacing the vocals.

because its all samples, and three phrases. Rap has no body, its like taking n2o sober. 30 seconds later you are still unfulfilled, and wishing you had something better.
