I have a tray that has lotsa tiny pns forming on the sides of the tin foil tray. The tray is poo spawned with 3 brf cakes. its fruiting very poorly, the caps r deformed on most of the babies, its color is almost the same color as the stalk and some have some bruising color on the cap and around the base of the stems. Im most likely gonna pick them now and throw them, they look disgusting compared to the tray beside it (in a diff terr)..poo/hay>>>much more beautiful fruiting and avg size. Y'know how the bulk substrate shrinks from the tray and u can see the sides, well i see lotsa lil pins there, waht should i do???? Should i take some garden sheers and cut down on the corners of the tin foil tray...thus exposing them and giving them more room to maneuvre??? Btw, there is no casing layer on it...i know i know, i shoulda applied one to it but i had my reasons LOL
Thx....

Also does any1 know why that happens? Every time i use one of those trays and the substarte shrinks there tends to be lotsa pin formations from there...why is that???

Let them grow out dude! They should get tall enough for you to easily pick them.
Later.

I had the same problem, I was using rye berries as my substrate and sporeworks pes hawaiin. I also didnt put a casing layer on. Eventually there was overlay on the surface and I scrapped the tray and ate the pins. They worked but I did feel and a little sick after eating them. The reason they formed in my case was because light was entering through the side of the tray initiating pinning. I fixed it by covering the sides with tape to block the light.

okey! But i mean theres alott. Im just worried for those lil suckers with not so much room there. I mean i can levy there pain or discomfort by bringing down the wallz so to speak. But if ya say let them be, i'll let them BE
Also, im using a tin foil tray so i dont think light penetrated it as to cause it to pin there! I think i read somewhere that the substarte shrinks cus it's dry...if thats the case, should i inject several cc's of water in several places around the tray?
Thx

If there is room down there for them to grow tall enough to get out then let them be and harvest them as usual.
