ok guys, been over a week.
heres an update for those willing to help

been about 8 days, had full y colonized cakes inserted into ice chest with perlite method. Condensation formed on plexiglass lid which i had weighed down over weather seal.

nothing happened except fuzzy balls, so i read up on it, said there might be too much moisture? I dont know what to do. I tried to crack it a little. still noticed nothing.

Noticed today two extremely small pins coming from just ONE CAKE at the very bottom, where it is actually at the edge of the vermiculite. the cakes are on foil, and i need to know what to do

I took off plexiglas, replaced with normal lid form ice chect, but left weather striping. How in the hell do i initiate pins. THE ONLY THING I AN THINK OF IS that the TEMP is 80 degrees. Is that too hot?

I have no way of controlling house temp, no AC, so what do i do??

i noticed a little green at the bottom of one cake today and removed it... i want to start these pins before contam ruins the batch!

if you can drop the temp, that helps to initiate pinning... So does giving the cakes light and fresh air, so fan it 3-5 times a day...
