I need a decent Hygrometer
    #12187235 -

As you all probably know finding a good accurate hygrometer is hard to find.
Could I get some feed back on what you guys use and maybe where to get them.

The cheap one from petco seems to work ok.
Calibrate it- mine's off by 5, I add that to the dial to get the real reading.
They're by the coir.

No problem I bought one almost like that but I did pay it now and it cost like 10.99 shipped.

I don't mean to thread jack either but, has anyone ever used one of the EcoPlus thermo/hygrometers?

This one seems to be of high quality.

I actually have that exact thermometer/hygrometer, and I like it BUT im not sure if the hygrometer part is accurate or not.

Now that i think of it I'm gonna wrap it in a damp towel and see what it reads. The only downside is there isnt any calibration tool/button/screw on it as far as i know.

It has some nice features though, like a wire to extend where you want the "outdoor" reading to be. It can show both indoors and outdoors, and can record record highs/lows for both. It can also display F or C

I actually have one in my FC right now. I just wanted to know if anyone had anything negative to say about them. Thus far, it seems to be really accurate. You would think that it would be quality given the price and that its produced by a hydo manufacturer, but really that doesn't mean a damn thing. jus' wonderin...

@KillaFoRilla do you have your entire hygrometer/thermometer in ur FC? or do you just have the wire in it? Mine reads the temperature fine, but the hygrometer doesnt seem to change much. Im trying to calibrate mine right now, and the wire is wrapped in a damp towel but the reading stays the same as the indoor RH.
Im thinking maybe mine is only reading the indoor RH sensor on the base of the unit, but not the external wire.
It might also be that i need a new battery, i dunno

The remote probe is just the temp, usually.

The 6' lead for the temp is for inside and out. Mine seems to work perfectly, the only one that was fucked up I dropped into  a bucket of water.(had to shitcan that one) Try a new battery and possibly just get an analog to compare it to.

I actually have a couple throughout my apartment so I can always look and see how hot or cold it is inside without getting up. I have a shitty thermostat and live upstairs so temps/humidity fluxuate big time. With growing shrooms and fermenting beer its tough to keep everything ideal someytimes.(rant much?)

Also most digital hygrometers are not good for this hobby because they are not made to function at high Rh levels for long.

That's where I got mine from.  The first one for 2.81 is pretty good deal.  They work, but the only catch is you got to be pretty careful with them.  they're made of plastic and they are fragile.  but hey, they work!  i got myself 3, they're from china and will take 2 weeks for shipping, but they don't overcharge.  I've just started calibrating mine too.

or you can always just go to wal-mart or petco or somewhere, but probably all of their products are made in china anyway.  so why not buy direct from manufacturer?

Very true Damion. The one I posted being an exception, its waterproof. I sure as fuck wouldn't put my $2 one in my FC, thats for damn sure.

I bought a 100 dollar acurite weather station with an outside temp and rh sensor.  and it will read the Rh of 99% but after like a week in the FC it shorted out and stopped working.  So i took it back and got a new one, told them it just didn't work lol.  But now I place it in my FC for maybe a day or so to check the Rh then take it out immediately, but my analog stay in the FC 24-7
