Pre Sterilizing BRF

Can I bake my BRF if sterility is questionable, if so how long, and at what temperature. The reason I am asking is because I boil, not pressure sterilize, and I have some BRF thats a month old, only opened once the resealed, and placed inside a ziplock, but not inside a fridge.

My brf sits out all the time and all i do is boil if I'm doing PF cakes. No problems with contams. As long as it's kept dry contams will not infect it

It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. ok.....
yes you can bake the brf ... and the verm.. in the oven at 300F for 20mins.. in separate baking pans covered by aluminum ..
it's what i use to use when i didn't have a presser cooker... and it worked grate..
make sure to cook the h2o in a pot for the 20mins that you bake the brf/verm.. in the oven
then mix your stuff up put it in to a jar and steam for an hour let it cool... and whala... perfect jars ready to go...
and i know this works for a fact cuz thats what i use to use..

What's the point of sterilizing your ingredients, if you are just doing the same thing when you boil the jars? Seems like a waste of time.

I guess it would be redundent if you PC'd them, but boiling them doesnt get the temp as high a PC set a 15psi. I believe the water is 250 degrees when its pc'd at 15psi. Since im steam sterilizing it may be better to bake the ingredients prior to boiling in order to kill anything that wouldnt have died at 212 degrees.

why all the extra steps of baking? why not just steam sterilize, lot less steps in between and the contamination rate will properly be down.
